Supporting the partnership between horse and rider with Reflexology

I’m Andrea Cooper. I’m a level 5 qualified Reflexologist and a trainee Level 5 Tutor (Studying for DET QCF L5).

I’ve ridden since I was a child, and have always loved horses. Through my teenage years I loved jumping, but following a fall in my early 20’s became a happy hacker. Almost 15 years ago Dressage found me, and I’ve progressed through the levels from Intro to Advanced, I’ve also competed to affiliated Advanced Medium. As part of this Dressage journey I’ve trained with some very well respected international trainers, judges and riders, and have undertaken a considerable amount of unaffiliated judging from Intro to Novice/Elementary.

I’m passionate about the partnership between horse and rider, and feel that through it’s gentle techniques Reflexology can benefit this unique relationship. It can make the rider more mindful which increases perception, releases tension, eases anxiety and may therefore positively impact on the horses’ way of going.

This journey started with a number of Reflexology case studies (Which I ran through my business, Orchard Reflexology) working with experienced Dressage riders working at varying levels though from Novice to Grand Prix. All participants experienced changes which they felt helped benefit their riding.
