Feet are an important part of our bodies. The average adult takes approximately 18,000 steps a day, and will walk 75,000 miles during their lifetime, the equivalent of circumnavigating the world four times. The foot bears our whole bo
dy weight and takes a lot of abuse. Regular foot care is therefore essential to maintain independence, mobility and quality of life. Podiatrists are allied health professionals who are trained to assess, diagnose and treat disorders of the foot, ankle and lower limb. They work either in the NHS or as independent private practitioners. Susan Cardwell BSc (Hons) MRCPod started Feet to Go Podiatry & Chiropody, in September 2010. She says, “I started the practice because people are often unable to access podiatry due to work commitments or lack of transport”. Susan graduated from the University of Northampton in 2010 with a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry, is registered with the Health Professions Council and a member of the Royal College of Podiatry. Since graduation, Susan has worked in clinics in North Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire and in a specialist care home with dementia patients. Her interests include Diabetes and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.
“I offer Saturday morning appointments and am happy to give advice on a variety of foot care issues. I try to go the extra mile for my patients”, states Susan. Feet to Go offers a friendly professional service where the patient always comes first. To book an appointment or for further information please telephone our receptionist on 01234 794 100. Reception is open from Monday - Friday: 8am - 6pm and 9am - 1pm Saturdays. Closed on Sunday.
