✨ Days Out at Goldhill ✨

This week, one of our wonderful residents, George, took a trip to the Crooked Spire Christmas Tree Festival in Chesterfield. The church was filled with beautifully decorated trees, twinkling lights, and plenty of Christmas cheer - and George had a fantastic time soaking it all in 🎄

Big shout out to Pete, his Key Worker for making sure George had such a lovely festive day out!

🎄 It’s never too early for Christmas!

Staff and residents at Goldhill House had a wonderful time decorating the lounge and other areas of the home for the festive season. 🎅

They especially enjoyed decorating the Christmas tree, putting up wall decorations, and hanging their own stockings. Lots of smiles and laughter all around.

🌟 At Chilwell House, our residents took part in lots of fun activities for Anti-Bullying Week.

It was great to see everyone working together, communicating well, and supporting each other when things got tricky.

Moments like these are a reminder of the importance of kindness, respect, and teamwork. 💛

Goal achieved! 🚴‍♂️

When Ryan arrived at Goldhill House, one of his goals was to ride a bike again. With patience, encouragement, and the support of Sam, one of our support workers - he’s now cycling confidently again.

Anything is possible when you put your mind to it 🌟

Our homes celebrated Halloween in spooktacular style this year - with tasty themed buffets, amazing decorations, and even a surprise visit from a friendly dinosaur! 🦖👻

🎃Halloween prep is in full swing🎃

At Goldhill House, residents got stuck into decorating the lounge - it’s looking spooktacular! They also baked some terrifying (and delicious) halloween cookies. 🍪🕸️

Over at Dovecote, everyone had a blast carving pumpkins and showing off their creative side. 🎃✨

A big thank you to Sam, one of our support workers at Goldhill House, for bringing in his guitar and filling the home with music 🎶

It was wonderful to see our residents smiling, singing along, and even joining in, one resident even played the guitar too.

Music has a way of connecting people. It can reduce stress, improve mood, stimulate memory, and create a sense of calm and belonging💜

At Chilwell House, residents Kelsey and Jacqueline were signed off their main meal cooking assessments - well done both! 👏 Others enjoyed a fun trip to the Ilkeston Charter Fair 🎡

At Dovecote, residents took part in Global Handwashing Day, learning about proper handwashing through engaging, hands-on activities. 🧼🌍

🚤 A Great Day at Tapton Lock 🌿

Karen and Paige from our Goldhill House support team recently took residents on a lovely trip to Tapton Lock in Chesterfield and it was a huge success.

Everyone enjoyed learning about the lock’s history and mechanics, taking in the beautiful canal scenery, and spending quality time together. Many have already asked to go again!

🌍 World Mental Health Day 2025 💚

Our sessions focused on understanding mental health and breaking the stigma that surrounds it. Residents took part in therapeutic colouring, true or false quizzes, and interactive check-ins and games - encouraging creativity, reflection, and open discussion.

These activities provided a safe space to share experiences, support one another, and promote a culture of understanding and acceptance.

Together, we can make every day a step towards ending the stigma. 💬

Sam, our Fitness and Wellbeing Champion at Goldhill House, has just started cycling to and from work thanks to our Cycle to Work Scheme 🚴‍♂️

We’re proud to offer this initiative as part of our wider commitment to employee health, wellbeing, and sustainability. It’s a great way to make commuting more active, reduce our carbon footprint, and help everyone save on the cost of a new bike and equipment.

Well done, Sam, for leading by example! 🌿💪
