Established in Beeston over 30 years ago, John Flynn Opticians has provided eye examinations and reliable prescriptions for generations of Nottinghamshire patients. Our local practice offers a more personal approach to sight tests, which is why our patients choose us over other retailers each year. All of our prices are competitive and NHS patients receive free examinations. We go further, offering free trial contact lenses when you book your first appraisal, and our tests use the latest technology available to ensure you receive the best ophthalmic check-up. Appointments are available Monday to Saturday excluding Bank Holidays. In a non-medical emergency (if you have lost or broken your glasses for instance) every effort will be made to see you on the day. Medical eye emergencies are often best addressed by your GP or hospital eye casualty, but you may phone for advice. Our number can be found on the Contact Us page.

In 2017, Sheeraz Janjua, the owner and senior optometrist at John Flynn Optician, Beeston, Nottingham, attained a Doctor of Optometry degree. In 2025, he has built on that success by completing his MSc in Clinical Optometry at Cardiff University. His latest achievement entailed a number of examinations and the compilation of an extensive review of current research into Photobiomodulation, a new form of therapy which uses special light sources to treat patients who have Dry Age-related Macular Disease (DryAMD) or patients who have Dry Eye Disease (DED) or Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD).

Dr Janjua has been using these new light-based therapies extensively in his practice in Beeston and his treated patients have been reporting very positive results.

Flynn's, In Devonshire Avenue, Beeston, welcomes the registration of new patients and is open from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5:30pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm.
