Most people don’t realise how closely linked pain and stress are.
When your body is tense, everything feels harder — sleep, mood, digestion, focus… all of it.
Reflexology works by calming the nervous system so your body can finally switch out of “fight or flight.”
When the body feels safe, it can rest, repair, and release tension naturally.
A gentle reminder: you don’t need to push through everything on your own.
If you'd like to explore reflexology for pain or stress support, my Wednesday–Friday appointments are open.

Hiya, I’m Gill 💜
Me first…
🌱I love nature and all her wisdom.
🤓I’m a massive bookworm.
🤐 I don't do talking before my morning coffee.
🧣And scarves? An absolute must — Therapist Law ar this time of year for anyone with neck or shoulder tension 😂
I’m also mum to an almost-teenager (how did that happen 😳), and I split my week between working with my local HSCP and running Purple Poppy Wellness.
💜 I care deeply about helping people de-stress, self-regulate, and find those gentle “a-ha” moments on their wellbeing journey.
Life can feel like a hamster wheel — work, family, housework, keeping fit, trying to stay energised… it’s a lot.
I’m here to help you simplify wellness by tuning into the natural world for guidance. Nature always knows best.
💜 Purple Poppy began when my son was a baby — first with natural skincare and aromatherapy, then therapies to help people connect with their bodies, release stress, and come back towards balance. Later, after grief and anxiety reshaped my own life, mindfulness became part of my path and naturally part of my work too.
💜 Now, from my wee hub in the centre of Beith, I offer therapies, mindfulness, workshops, and gatherings that support people to connect — with themselves, their bodies, and with other likeminded souls.
If you’re new here, Welcome 😊👋🏼
If you’ve been around a while, thank you — I’m so glad you’re here 💕✨️

🌿 Do you have private health insurance?
You may be able to reclaim your therapy costs!
As a registered member of the Scottish Manual Therapists Organisation, I can provide detailed invoices for individual treatments or full treatment plans to support your claim.
Whether you come for reflexology, aromatherapy massage, or Tui Na, your sessions can be both deeply restorative and potentially reimbursable.

🍂 My Autumn Wellness Must-Haves 🍂
Alright, fellow peri-menopausal warriors (and anyone juggling life with a side of “I just need five minutes”) — here are my top three autumn essentials keeping me calm, comfy, and just about functioning through the season! 😅
🌿 Weleda Relaxing Oral Drops – basically the bottled version of that “aaah” feeling when the bra comes off and your feet go up. Perfect for those sleep-deprived, slightly frazzled, randomly edgey moments, when you need a little help unwinding.
❄️ Weleda Arnica Cryo Cooling Gel – for the post-workout aches, the “I just sneezed and pulled something” twinges, or the mysterious shoulder ni**le that appeared overnight. It’s a cool breeze in a tube.
💋 Weleda Skin Food Lip Balm – silky, hydrating, and absolutely non-sticky (because no one needs hair stuck to their lips mid-walk). The ultimate companion for breezy autumn days.
Basically, these three are my autumn holy grails — alongside the classic Skin Food that should never leave your bag, ever.
And if you fancy treating yourself (or getting ahead on a little gifting 👀), head over to my webshop — link’s in the comments.
✨ Every order over £30 helps me gift a lip balm towards our Bags of Kindness project — so you’re not just nourishing yourself, you’re spreading a little autumn kindness too. 🤍
Wellness and wellbeing are my passion, and from Wednesday to Saturday you'll find me at the Cross in Beith.
I offer a range of therapies like Reflexology, Aromatherapy massage, mindfulness sessions, and much more.
For the full list of all the therapies I offer, just head over to the Purple Poppy website (purplepoppywellness.com) where you can find all the details and pricing.
I'm not great at updating the website for meditation sessions and events, but you will always find this information on my Facebook and Instagram pages.

So far this year has been full of learning and new experiences. I started the year by undertaking a variety of tech courses to help me to be more visible and to provide you with interesting and relevant content. From Pinterest and Instagram to building my own website, pushing this technophobe outside of her comfort zone!
In March I completed further training in Natural Lift Facial Massage. What a treatment that is! I don’t think I have ever had as many people fall asleep during their treatments as they do with this one!
A big part of my role is to help my customers to develop their ability to deal with stress and anxiety. Having experienced periods of both anxiety and depression I am keen to help others however I can. Having always been camera shy and quite a private person, this year I decided that it was time to get over myself! It’s very difficult to help people if you are shying away isn’t it. So I put on my big girl pants and starting doing group Mindfulness events, alongside a very talented Yoga instructor (aka Calm Sundays). This led us to hold a fabulous weekend retreat on Arran, a whole weekend of Yoga and Mindfulness that received brilliant feedback and saw a lot of happy and chilled out faces getting back on that ferry to Ardrossan.
I have also continued down my own path with Mindfulness training and I hope that this will one day lead me to a qualification in Mindfulness for Young People. Having spent the majority of my adult life working with teenagers, Mindfulness is a skill that I am really keen to share with them.
Getting involved in Mental Health Awareness week and posting about this years topic “Be Body Kind” raised a lot of interesting points for me. Initially in the feelings that were thrown up when you stand in front of a screen and hit the record button but more importantly in the conversations that occurred off the back of those videos. Body image really is such a massive issue, that affects everyone. That connection to other people, that acknowledgement that we all have our own issues to deal with, I thought that was a really powerful thing.
Roll forward to August and I have an amazing opportunity to collaborate with a brilliant Psychotherapist to bring you a course of workshops (Body Kind), that will combine Mindfulness with Therapy Techniques to enable you to take an honest look at the things that are holding you back from being the person that you really want to be. To dismantle that negative body image and be left with something more positive, the ability to acknowledge how unique and wonderful you really are.... I cannot wait until September to get started with this.
What does the rest of 2019 have in store? More learning, more development and more collaborating with talented people...and of course planning ahead for 2020 retreats.
