FSM (Frequency Specific Microcurrent) is an emerging method for treating many pathological conditions.

A pair of frequencies of microampere - level electrical stimulation are applied to particular places on the skin of a patient via combinations of conductive, moistened towels or gel electrode patches.

FSM has emerged over the last decade as a reproducible treatment for various somatic & visceral conditions including fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, myofascial & neuropathic pain.

The technique is based on pairs of frequencies, low-level microcurrent amperage currents and the principle of biologic resonance.

"Simple muscular fitness tests, specifically hand-grip strength and the 5-repetition chair-stand, are high-value, cost-effective clinical tools to predict long-term health, as documented by research in the British Journal of Sports Medicine & reported by Medical Xpress. Higher performance indicates a lower risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, dementia & disability. A 5 kg increase in hand-grip strength correlates with improved long-term health outcomes."

Key Clinical Findings:

Hand-grip Strength:

A marker for overall robustness, low hand-grip strength strongly correlates with higher risks of premature death, sarcopenia & cardiovascular disease.

Chair-Stand Test (Lower Body Strength):

A faster 5-repetition chair-stand is linked to lower risks of type 2 diabetes, dementia, and functional disability.

Predictive Value:

These tests are effective for identifying at-risk individuals during routine check-ups.

Clinical Impact:

Higher strength levels are associated with a reduced risk of mental health conditions, including depression & anxiety.

New treatment - Non-Pharmacological Approach for the Treatment of Post-Herpetic Neuralgia / Shingles using frequencies resurrected from the 1920's.

"...Reactivation of varicella-zoster virus results in acute herpetic skin blistering and rash. Persistent of pain after resolution of skin rash for more than 3 months is known as Post-Herpetic Neuralgia (PHN). The incidence of PHN is unknown; it increases with age, being more frequent among patients aged above 50 years old....In the reported cases, FSM has been shown to be effective in treating PHN."

".... It is hypothesized that the frequencies might vibrate and resonate with one or more crucial bonds in the crystalline structure of the zoster virus and change the ability of the virus to interact with the cell membrane..."

Mitochondrial Recharge - Boosting athletic performance:

Using Microcurrent before a game or an event can help boost endurance during the event by directly stimulating cellular energy production, essentially "pre-charging" muscles to perform at a higher capacity & so delaying fatigue. By applying low-level electrical current that mimics the body's own ‘natural’ bioelectric signals, this therapy enhances mitochondrial efficiency to produce more adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the primary energy carrier in cells.

This process specifically helps by:

• Increased ATP Production (Energy Boost):
Microcurrent stimulation can increase ATP production by up to 500%. This provides a higher energy reserve in the muscles before physical exertion begins, allowing athletes to sustain higher performance levels for longer periods.

• Enhanced Oxygen Utilization:
Research indicates that applying microcurrent before exercise (pre-conditioning) improves oxygen extraction at the muscle microvasculature, optimising the aerobic energy system.

• Injury Prevention & Tissue Preparation:
Pre-event application can reduce the risk of muscle strain by improving blood circulation & tissue elasticity. It also helps in relaxing tissues & alleviating anxiety.

• Reduced Perceived Exertion:
Pre-competition application can lower the athlete's perceived exertion, meaning the same amount of effort feels less exhausting, allowing for better performance during the event.

• Improved Muscle Function:
Studies have shown that even short-term pre-event microcurrent applications can improve muscle tone & functional strength.

Using our new microcurrent treatment for injury on a runner's recent achilles injury.

Microcurrent mimics the body's natural bioelectrical currents, stimulating fibroblast activity & tissue repair.

Key Benefits of microcurrent for achilles tendinopathy include:

• Accelerated Healing: Studies show that microcurrent increases collagen fibre organisation, promoting stronger, faster repair.

• Reduced Inflammation & Pain: It helps reduce chronic inflammation of the paratenon (the tissue surrounding the Achilles).

• Reduced Risk of re-rupture: By aiding in the structural repair of collagen fibres, it may reduce the likelihood of re-injury in weakened tendons.

• Improved Functionality: It has been shown to be more effective than conventional conservative management for chronic Achilles tendon injuries.
