Struggling to switch off at night? Try 4-7-8 breathing – a simple technique that calms the nervous system and prepares the body for rest.

How it helps:
🌿 Slows racing thoughts
🌿 Reduces stress and anxiety
🌿 Signals your body it’s safe to relax

How to do it:
Breathe in for 4, hold for 7, breathe out slowly for 8. Repeat 4 times.

✨ Tip: If the counts feel too long (especially the hold), shorten them. Try 3-4-5 or even 2-3-4. The key is slow, gentle breathing – not forcing it. Keep your exhale the longest.

It takes practise but small changes can make a big difference to your sleep 🌙

Affirmation of the Day

Positive affirmations are such a simple yet powerful tool. They help re-focus the mind, shift our internal dialogue, and gently guide our nervous system back toward balance. When we repeat them with intention, we begin to rewrite the stories we tell ourselves—and that can create real change from the inside out.

I’ll be honest… I’ve fallen out of my routine of journalling and using affirmations lately. So today’s post is as much for me as it is for anyone who needs this reminder. These little practices really do work when we return to them with compassion and consistency.
