This month, David has planned a wonderfully festive topic for our Autism Evening โ complete with hot drinks, mince pies, and an honest look at the realities many autistic children and their families face during the Christmas season.
While Christmas can be magical, it can also bring big challenges for autistic children. The bright lights, constant noise, disrupted routines, sudden changes, excited siblings, and endless social expectations can lead to overstimulation and overwhelm. What feels fun and festive to some can feel unpredictable, chaotic, or even frightening to a child who relies on structure, calm, and familiar patterns.
During the session, David will break down:
