As a creative person at heart — and admittedly not always a fan of paperwork in previous roles — I never thought I would say this, but as a business owner I have come to genuinely value reviewing best-practice guidance and BASE’s policies and procedures each January. For me, this annual process is more than governance: it is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and ensure that I conduct myself responsibly as Director while driving the organisation forward with integrity and authenticity. Just for FUN post - as it's Saturday night (TV and movie night in my house) 🍿🎥 🖥️

When delivering autism spectrum | neurodivergent disorders training, I typically heed caution when neurodivergent disorders are represented in TV and Film - highlighting, that whilst it is 'good' that this is becoming more typical - I remind attendees at my training, that this is 'drama' and behaviours and characteristics are frequently mis-represented 'badly' - purely for entertainment purposes - however, these two characters I must say - are my two absolute personal favourites - Autism (Ben Affleck, AKA Christian Wolff - The Accountant) and ADHD (prev. ADD) (James Gandolfini, AKA Tony Soprano - The Sopranos). Autism and ADHD have a comorbid percentage, estimated between 40%-80% - typically more-so HD (hyperactivity) in males, and AD (attention deficit) in females ...

*Side note: the Accountant (2016) is brilliant; the Accountant 2 (2025) - go to bed early!
