HAVE A BREAK
Sometimes your body tells you to stop — and this week, I had to listen.
I’d been doing a bit too much upper body work, then going straight into hours of treatments with very little recovery in between. It caught up with me.
If you’ve ever dealt with a rotator cuff strain, you’ll know how frustrating it is — simple movements feel restricted, and the discomfort can be constant.
But instead of pushing through, this is where taking a step back matters most.
In the early days, it’s not about strength or intensity. It’s about keeping the shoulder moving in a gentle, pain-free way:
• Shoulder shrugs and rolls
• Wall walks
• Pendulum movements (forward/back, side to side, small circles)
Nothing forced. Nothing rushed. Just slow, controlled movement done often.
It’s not always easy to ease off, especially when you’re used to being active or hands-on with work, but giving your body that space can make all the difference.
If you’re dealing with something similar, keep it simple and stay consistent — it does improve.
