Extern SAFE Project & Crisis Intervention Team are delighted to offer FREE SafeTALK training!!

SafeTALK is designed to help you recognise when someone might be thinking about su***de and connect them to lifesaving support. In just a few hours participants learn how to identify signs, engage in open conversation, and refer at risk individuals to professional help. The program empowers communities to become su***de alert and play a vital role in prevention by encouraging, open, honest dialogue and timely action,

Please fill out the registration form for safeTALK taking place on 26th February 2026 at the Spectrum Centre, 331 Shankill Road from 11am to 2:45pm. If you have been allocated a place, a member of staff will email you.

We would like to gently let families know that there are plans for building work on the Garden of Reflection for families bereaved by su***de on the Shankill.

We understand this news may be upsetting. Families who have placed memorials in the garden are kindly asked to lift them before building works begin, so nothing meaningful is lost.

Please know that we are doing all we can to identify another suitable piece of land for a future memorial garden, and we will keep the community updated.

With care and respect to all families affected. 💙

Extern SAFE Project and the Crisis Intervention Team for the Greater Shankill were proud to join colleagues at Stormont for the launch of the All-Party Group on Su***de Prevention’s Inquiry into cross-departmental funding for su***de prevention in Northern Ireland.

With 290 su***de deaths registered in Northern Ireland in 2024, this Inquiry is critically important. It represents a vital opportunity to ensure that policy and funding decisions are informed by real experiences, real communities, and robust evidence.

The Inquiry is now open for written submissions, and we strongly encourage organisations across Northern Ireland to take part and ensure their voices are heard.

The survey will remain open until 27 February 2026. Respondents can also indicate their willingness to provide oral evidence or host an evidence session with MLAs.
