🟣 Fibromyalgia is a long-term condition that causes pain all over the body 🟣

As well as widespread pain, other symptoms of fibromyalgia include:
• increased sensitivity to pain
• muscle stiffness
• difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep, which can make you feel very tired (fatigue)
• problems with mental processes (known as "fibro-fog"), such as difficulty concentrating or remembering things
• headaches
• irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), a digestive condition that causes stomach pain and bloating
• feelings of frustration, worry or low mood

Although there's currently no cure for fibromyalgia, there are treatments to help relieve some of the symptoms and make the condition easier to live with.

Treatment tends to be a combination of:
✅ lifestyle changes, such as exercise programmes and relaxation techniques
✅ talking therapies, such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
✅ medicine, such as antidepressants
In particular, exercise has a number of important benefits for people with fibromyalgia, including helping to reduce pain.

If you know someone who suffers from fibromyalgia, show them compassion and understanding, their symptoms are changeable –they can sometimes suddenly improve or get worse and are extremely unpredictable.

A normal temperature in babies and children can vary slightly from child to child -
❌ A high temperature is 38C or more ❌

If your child has a high temperature, they might:
• feel hotter than usual when you touch their back or chest
• feel sweaty
• look or feel unwell
• have a seizure or fit, called a febrile seizure

🌡️ Use a digital thermometer, which you can buy from your local pharmacy to take your child's temperature.

If your child has a high temprerature, there's lots of things you can do to help keep them comfortable :
✅ give them plenty of fluids – if your baby is breastfed, continue to breastfeed as normal
✅ look out for signs of dehydration
✅ give them food if they want it
✅ check on your child regularly, including during the night
✅ keep them at home
✅ give them either paracetamol or ibuprofen if they're distressed or uncomfortable – check the packaging or leaflet to make sure the medicine is suitable for your child, or speak to a pharmacist or GP if you're not sure
✅ get medical advice if you're worried about your child, or if the paracetamol or ibuprofen is not helping

⚠️ Remember you can call 111 day or night if you are worried, and there is more details for when you should call 999 here:

💚 March is Endometriosis Awareness Month 💚
It affects more than 1 in 10 women, yet nearly 75% are misdiagnosed at first. There is no cure, only treatments to manage the symptoms.

For millions, the pain is invisible. The inflammation is invisible. The exhaustion is invisible. But the impact is not…..

This March, we are raising awareness of this condition and asking for earlier diagnosis, increased research funding, better treatments, and a future where “just a bad period” is no longer a reason someone suffers in silence.

There are certain expectations surrounding public transport but the one that generates the most debate is whether children should offer up their seat to adults.

'I can't believe this is an actual debate though. This is exactly why there is NO RESPECT because these simple gestures are being called outdated/old fashion.’*

Maybe it’s time we brought that back. Not blind obedience, just basic respect and patience.
There’s value in people who’ve lived long enough to make mistakes and survive them. A little listening goes a long way.

As a parent, you have a chance to bridge this gap by teaching your children the value of elders.

🎀 International Women's Day! 🎀
Today, we pause for a moment to honor the quiet strength carried in the hearts of women everywhere. Not only the loud victories that history records, but the gentle, unseen courage that lives in everyday life, the resilience of getting up again, the grace of loving deeply, and the bravery of becoming who we truly are.

International Women's Day is not only about what women have achieved, though those achievements are extraordinary, it is also about the journey inward, the slow and beautiful unfolding of a woman discovering her own worth, the moment she realizes she does not need permission to stand tall in her life.

To be proud of who we are is one of the most powerful things a woman can do. Pride not born of arrogance, but of self-respect. Pride that comes from surviving, learning, loving, and growing. Pride in the softness that does not make us weak, and the strength that does not make us hard.

On this day, may every woman remember that her story matters. Her voice matters. Her presence in this world is not small or accidental. It is part of the great tapestry of courage woven by women across generations.

So stand a little taller today.
Smile a little deeper at your reflection.
And know that simply being yourself, fully, honestly, beautifully, is something to be proud of.

💖 Happy International Woman's Day! 💖

Domestic Abuse Update

During the month of February, we have arrested over 70 individuals in connection with domestic abuse related incidents across North Belfast

Domestic abuse can often be underreported and behind every statistic is a person who may be living in fear in their own home. Our priority is clear – to protect victims, hold offenders accountable, and prevent further harm.

We continue to work alongside our partners to safeguard victims and bring perpetrators to justice.

Domestic abuse can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. If you are experiencing abuse, you are not alone. Please report it to police on 101, online or in an emergency always dial 999.

🧡💛 March is MS Awareness Month 💛🧡

MS stands for Multiple Sclerosis – a condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks the protective covering around our nerves 🧡

Some days an MS sufferer can look absolutely fine on the outside, other days their legs can feel like lead, their feet and hands can burn, their bladder and bowel have a mind of there own, the fatigue is overwhelming, and their brain feels wrapped in fog, it’s a very unpredictable condition🧡

This month, it’s about awareness, it’s about understanding that MS isn’t 'just being tired' It’s about patience, kindness, and supporting those of us navigating an invisible illness every single day 🧡

If you know someone with MS, check in on them, if you don’t understand it, ask, spreading awareness leads to empathy 🧡

To everyone living with MS I see you. You are stronger than you know 🧡
