Ever wondered what would happen if you translated the DNA and amino acid sequences of linen into a melody, by creating a musical scale based on the amino acids of proteins generated by DNA?

Hasn't everyone?

If you missed our very own Dr O'Kane doing just this at NI Science Festival - fear not - you can hear exactly how he went about it and most importantly what it sounds like by visiting https://bit.ly/3fCbVm3

When science 🧬 meets arts 🎭 ... magic is made! 🪄

2020 was the year of crazy, so obviously we are now making music from the DNA of linen. Don’t believe us?

Check out the first Linen Biennale 2021 online event, brought to you by NI Science Festival where our Head of Discovery Dr Anthony O’Kane 💫 will be showing off his musical talents (backed up by his mega scientific mind 🧠) to show that science isn’t all about lab coats 🥼 and chemicals 💣!

We hope you can make it!

The genetic code determining the shape, structure and function of every organism is written in the codex of DNA.  Patterns of 4 bases clustered to form chains of 21 amino acids that form the proteins that govern everything in a process known as translation. This process has an architecture that le...

2020 hasn't been a year for many celebrations and we were just going to let this one slide... but as the year draws to a close and so much hope is now on the horizon, we thought it only right to wish ourselves a big Happy 20th Birthday!

20 years ago we never envisaged that we would ever be where we are now - publicly listed (3 years today!), 200+ humanizations, 11+ clinical trials and 50+ staff (to list but a few). We could never have hoped or dreamed to have the achievements and successes that the past 2 decades have brought us.

It has been a steep learning curve, one which we continue to climb each and every day. We would like to take the opportunity to thank each and every person and organisation that has been on this journey with us and that has given us the support and encouragement to continue to succeed and grow - it is because of you all that we are the FAB company that we are.
