Heal your own ACL!

Very interesting research in British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) showing the ACL's ability to spontaneously repair on MRI imaging.

With a statistical reinjury rate of aprox 30% for surgically repaired ACLs, opening the operative Vs non-operative debate can only be helpful.

But, before we put away the scalpels, we need to be confident that a "healed" ACL on MRI imaging has the structural capacity to deliver the functional demands of high-level sport.

As always, more research needed!

For second consecutive commonwealth games achieved objective of having every player available for every minute.

A simple aim, but complex task involving open communication between coaches and staff, intelligent load management and continuous assessment of the individual and collective well-being.

Exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist, specialising in the management of sports and musculoskeletal disorders.

Part-time flexible hours, to include some evening and weekend work, with view to increasing towards full time position. Off site competition work with teams as required.

Opportunity to work with elite level athletes to include; Northern Ireland Commonwealth Games squad, Northern Ireland Netball senior and development teams, St Mary's University Sigerson squad and GAA Academy.

Essential Criteria:
Bsc Hons Physiotherapy
Excellent Communication skills
Post Grad training in sports rehabilitation/ manual therapy.
