The Department of Health has reviewed the current COVID-19 vaccine deployment plan and has temporarily paused the ‘citizen’s choice’ option of the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine to all under 40s in all vaccination settings, including community pharmacy. If you are under 40, a vaccine other than the Astra Zeneca vaccine is preferred for your age cohort and you should book your vaccine through the Trust vaccination centres. There is currently good availability for vaccination slots in all Trust centres. Individuals aged under 40 years of age who have already had their first vaccine in community pharmacy should attend for their 2nd dose appointment as scheduled.
