A very special mention goes to Rob Baloucoune, who has been named the 2026 Rising Player of the Year – an amazing recognition for an outstanding talent. 🌟
We’re especially proud here at Cathedral Eye Clinic to have played a small part in Rob’s journey. Before visiting us, Rob struggled with wearing contact lenses on the pitch – they would regularly move or fall out during games and training, which is far from ideal when you’re competing at the highest level.
Rob chose SMILE laser eye surgery at Cathedral Eye Clinic, and now enjoys crystal-clear vision both on and off the pitch – no lenses, no hassle, just total focus on the game.
It’s fantastic to see him performing at such a high level, and we’re delighted to support athletes like Rob in achieving their best vision.
Congratulations again to the whole Irish team and especially to Rob on a well-deserved award. The future is bright! 💚
