🤔 Pain at the base of your nail? It could be retronychia

👣 This patient came to see us with retronychia, a painful condition where the nail grows backwards into the skin instead of forwards normally. It can cause ongoing pain, swelling, and make the toe very uncomfortable.

➡️ After assessment, we carried out a minor nail surgery procedure under local anaesthetic to remove the problematic nail and relieve the pressure.

🙂 The difference was immediate — and the patient is now healing well and back to comfort!

👣 Retronychia won’t settle on its own, but the good news is it can be treated safely and effectively.
