I’ve been practicing yoga since 2001 and have been a qualified Level 1 Yoga Alliance UK teacher since 2016. I undertook my teacher training initially as a means to further enhance my own knowledge and experience but decided to start teaching classes both to keep learning and to share my enjoyment of yoga with other people. In 2018 I undertook further Yoga for Sports training with Yoga Therapy Ireland because I have a particular interest in providing sports-specific yoga for athletes. I take a simple down-to-earth approach to my teaching in recognition that everyone has a different reason for wanting to practice yoga and with the aim of helping people discover a form of yoga that suits their own personal tastes and needs. I hope this makes my classes both physically beneficial and enjoyable. My focus is always on building strength and good alignment rather than doing poses just because they look fancy because I think this is what makes yoga most effective. I deliberately keep both my studio and online classes small so that I can tailor my routines to individual students and offer one-to-one attention to form and alignment. I also offer corporate yoga classes and one-to-one sessions for sports people. Whether you are a sports person looking to develop your cross-training or someone who’d like to wind down after a long day at your desk my classes are designed to offer accessible yoga for beginners and intermediate students of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

Teaching chair yoga to a wonderful, wise group of ladies over the past few months has been a privilege to say the least. I have been using lavender oil for their relaxation and talking about the benefits of rosemary oil but haven't quite got round to ordering any so this end of term gift was perfect and a reminder to stock up on new oils for classes resuming in Nov 🙏

It's been a while since I've been up for mucking around on the pull-up bar before class. Even tho I'm back into a big thick green assistance band, it still feels amazing to be thinking about resistance training again! Feeling very grateful to my physio and PT for getting me back to this point so quickly after surgery. When you're self employed your health really is your wealth!!

The studio is re-opening for classes in March after, what has seemed like an immensely long time!! Thanks to all my lovely clients who have kept in touch and been so supportive whilst I have been recovering from surgery. The initial recovery period is nearly, but not quite, over and it's going to be a while longer before I am back to full strength. Therefore, the class schedule is slightly reduced and I thank everyone in advance for your understanding. I'm looking forward to welcoming you back to the studio with the spring.

Happy new year, folks. My recovery from major surgery is ongoing and teaching is not an option for me just yet. But I know it's getting closer. For the moment I am thankful for small wins like now being able to drive myself to the studio to visit my beloved plants; do Legs Up The Wall pose; put on my own (xmas yoga) socks without causing myself pain: spend time with my furry family who love me even more when I've been too sore to get off the sofa!! I'm very grateful that yoga offers something for every stage and physical condition and I'm constantly re-learning all the yoga tools I have at my finger tips. Looking forward to re-opening for classes as soon as possible - most likely in February - but I'm having to be patient with my body so please watch this space if you're interested in 2025 classes 🙏

That's a wrap on studio classes for the year! I'm having to close up wee bit earlier for Xmas this year for personal reasons but am looking forward to re-opening for classes in the new year. Thanks to all my lovely yoga clients in 2024.
