This just reminds me of a conversation I had with a new client this week. As he was recovering from cancer he wanted to ensure that his therapist was insured and under a professional body.
There are so many professional bodies out there and it can be a mind field to find the right one and also to ensure it's cost effective for your business.
I did my reflexology training with the Irish Institute 20 years ago, but over the years I added other therapies, so I joined FHT, the Federation of Holistic Therapies.
All my therapies are covered and insured. All courses I do are regulated by them and CPD points are required for my annual registration. You will definitely find me on FHT site!
Just so you know why I am not on a specific Reflexology website
Many people arrive for reflexology feeling overstimulated, tired, or disconnected. Regulation is about helping the nervous system move out of constant alert and into a calmer state.
Reflexology supports this gently through rhythm, touch, and stillness. When the body feels safer, everything else can soften too.
Regulation isn’t dramatic. It’s quiet, steady, and deeply valuable.
💜 The Irish Reflexologists’ Institute (IRI) is the professional body for reflexology in Ireland, supporting reflexologists through education, professional standards, continued learning, and a connected practitioner community. 💜
