Today was all about safety. Our Young Ones group, had a healthy and informative discussion around how to ensure personal safety and what tools and strategies they could use to enable this.

Having a hard day? Week? Month?😞

Those are the times you MUST be gentle with yourself. We often know how to care for others in their hard times but what about ourselves?🤷‍♂️

Ask yourself, if I knew someone in my situation such as a friend, a family memeber or work college, what would I be telling them to do in terms of taking care of themselves?🤔

🌸Self-care plays a crucial role in our overall wellbeing!

🌸 It is important to remember that Self-care is NOT selfish. It is essential!

🌸 It does not need to be time consuming.

🌸Did you know Self-care can;
- Reduce stress & anxiety
- Prevent burnout
- Promote physical and mental wellness
- Improve sleep
- Reduce the risk of illness
- Increase mental strength building resilience

🌸 Do you practice self-care? Why not start today? It can be as simple as a small walk, getting to bed that little bit earlier or enjoying a cup of tea ☕️ ( with a biscuit or 3 🤫)

Sheree and Mandy would like to announce that they will be standing down as Directors of Compass Counselling.

Were do we start! It has been an amazing journey! We have definitely had peaks and troughs along the way, and moved through 3 buildings as the team has grown. Most importantly we have been privileged to have supported and walked with thousands of children, young people and adults on their personal journeys

Over the past 6 years, we too have been battling personally behind the scenes as a family. Our dear Mother has a diagnosis of Dementia and unfortunately we have came to the time were full time care is required . This is were our focus, love, support and care is needed.

We would like to thank so many of you for your unwavering support, far too many to mention.

Compass facilitated one of many wellbeing session for the Young Ones Group and Hemsworth Court tenants

Discussions was about mental health, positivity and keeping mentally well. Cake, tea and Coffee was in full flow

The seniors did some pebble painting, look at the amazing designs!

This project is funded by the Public Health Agency.

The Young Ones Group enjoyed tea & buns today while discussing the withdrawal of free TV licences and the Winter Fuel Payment. We planned our next bus trip and spoke about Summer holidays

Poppy, our pup did so well today and was very obedient, she was gentle and is trained to sit nice. This was up until the cream buns came out, then she stole half of one of them!

A wonderful get together as usual and next week we will be heading to Hemsworth Court. The facilitator will do some art & crafts with the combined group from The Young Ones and tenants from Hemsworth.

Compass’ Social Supermarket is stocked up and ready for you to use!

Opening hours for Thursday are 10:30am-12:30pm

Referral can be made by emailing or calling Compass AND you can drop in during the opening hours to refer

This service is available to all, age,income status, family dynamic etc is not considered

Equipment and food is funded by Belfast City Council.

Compass' Social Supermarket is in place to help tackle food poverty while supporting you with advice or a referral into Compass Counselling Service.

The support is open to employed and unemployed people, there are no stipulations on financial income
