It was a busy spot at our training centre today.

Counter balance forklift, MEWP and telehandler training meant we had a full house, with Tom, Gilbert, Innis and Gerard the instructors on hand to ensure our trainees received the best advice and guidance en route to their operator certificates.

Our instructor Innis paid a visit to Newtownabbey today for a safe slinging course at W Hall Forklift Centre with some of their engineers. Thankfully the lifting appliance used wasn't the truck pictured which, oddly enough, lacked a LOLER certificate.

There was a lot of information for candidates to take in, along with a practical session, but there was a good mix of humour along with the learning and safe to say, they all passed with flying colours.

Saturday brought a more unusual training venue in the shape of Downpatrick and County Down Railway.

We were able to do some slinger/signaller refresher training which was put to use straight away in carrying out some track work.

The candidates seemed happy despite the damp conditions.

A busy day at the office today. Not one, not two, but three courses on the go.

Indoors saw counter balance forklift training, while outdoors we had scaffold tower and tracked MEWP courses running. Fortunately the lads outside managed to dodge the heavy rain.

Even the boss man himself was at the coal face, overseeing scaffold tower construction.
