**ACKNOWLEDGMENT**

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the support shown to us, from our family, friends, neighbours and the wider Belfast community following the passing of Evelyn Gilroy, (Nee Brennan).

Thank you to everyone, who attended the wake, funeral, mass and to those who joined us to walk down the falls to the Garden of Remembrance. A special message of appreciation goes to D Coy for the care and honour in which they carried out Evelyn’s final wishes. That she be buried in accordance with the sacred and traditional values of her Irish Republican roots. They carried out her wishes with pride and honour and we are forever grateful for that. We would also like to thank the Piper, and the Harpist who added such a special and memorable touch to the day.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the staff in 5F in the RVH, from the support service’s staff, nurses and Palliative care Dr’s that showed Evelyn compassion, during her 8 week’s in hospital. A special mention to a nurse called Holly, who provided consistent acute medical treatment to Evelyn and emotional support to her daughter Colette, on Evelyns last night before passing. Holly we will be forever grateful to you for providing an outstanding level of end of life nursing care. You truly are one of life’s earth Angel’s.

We are also very grateful for the many messages of support and tributes paid to Evelyn online by her family, friends, and the community. The wonderful tribute written by the BRC in honour of Evelyn’s dedication and contribution to her community work over many decades. For the funny stories shared at the wake, along with the many tales of Evelyn’s kindness, compassion and devotion to helping anyone who ever approached her for advice and support.

A heartfelt thank you, to our friends and neighbour's who brought and sent us food. To the team at Stacked Glen road for the daily platters of sandwiches and for providing the funeral Buffet, and also to the team at Bia Loch lao for the trays of lasagne sent to the wake, we are so grateful.

A special thank you to O'Neill's Funeral Services for their flawless professionalism and compassionate care in which they handled every aspect of Evelyn’s final journey home and her funeral services. It will never be forgotten, Thank You.

Finally, to Fr. Creamer for the many house calls to Evelyn, when she became unable to attend mass, and for his beautiful delivery of her final mass.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted, as a token of our sincere appreciation to everyone that showed support, at such a painful time. In the word’s of Evelyn, “God Bless Everyone”, “Peace and the Holy Spirit Be with You All”. Evelyn’s Months Mind will be held in St.Pauls Chapel at 6.30pm on Friday 20th of March.
