❓Are you planning on having an aesthetic tweakment soon?

💉 Save this post to refer back to when searching for a practitioner to ensure that you cover the key areas to check to ensure you’re in safe hands...

1. Verify Credentials and Certifications: Ensure the injector is properly licensed and certified to perform the injections you’re seeking. For medical or cosmetic injections, look for professionals with certifications from recognised medical boards or organisations relevant to their field.

2. Research Their Experience and Expertise: Look for an injector with extensive experience and specific expertise in the type of injections you’re interested in. Experience can significantly impact the safety and outcomes of procedures. Consider looking at the number of years they’ve been practising, the number of procedures they’ve performed, and their speciality training.

3. Check Reviews and Testimonials: Online reviews and testimonials can provide insights into the injector’s reputation and the satisfaction of their previous clients. Look for feedback on both the results and the patient care experience. However, take note that reviews should be one of many factors considered and not the sole basis for decision-making.

4. Evaluate Their Approach to Safety and Hygiene: Observe the cleanliness of the clinic and the safety protocols in place. The injector should use sterile, single-use needles and follow all relevant health and safety guidelines to prevent infections and complications. They should also have a clear protocol for dealing with any adverse reactions or emergencies.

5. Enquire About Complications Management: By having the necessary training and knowledge, practitioners can recognise and manage complications quickly and effectively, minimising the risk of serious long-term side effects.

Why can’t I wear makeup after my injectables?” Because your skin needs time to heal and stay free from bacteria.

Injectables like Botox or fillers involve tiny needle punctures, leaving small, temporary openings in your skin. Under a microscope, these punctures appear as entry points where bacteria or makeup particles could cause irritation, infection, or inflammation.

Applying makeup too soon can also disrupt the healing process and potentially affect your results, as rubbing or pressing on the skin may displace the product. For the best outcome, avoid makeup for at least 6 hours and follow your practitioner’s aftercare advice. It’s a small step for safety and better results!
