Luminarae is a nod to the light within — Namaste, in yoga, means the light within me honors the light within you. The sun, moon, and stars guide us in everything. Candles, light work, and awakening our inner light — our spark — are all reminders of everything we already have inside us.

But not everything is always good. I believe in light work because I have been through some of the darkest times — dark nights of the soul. I know what it’s like to lose your spark. But through the practices I teach and by looking after ourselves, we can awaken that light again. Even if you think it’s dead, it’s always just sleeping. And it always comes back brighter. Sometimes it needs a rest to come back stronger.

The more light you have, the bigger your shadows may be. Any scientist would admit that shadow doesn’t exist without light. Shadow work is digging deep: seeing why we are the way we are, understanding the hidden benefits we receive from “burdens” or bad habits. Do you enjoy being a victim without even realizing it?
