Ready for some back to school soul-nourishing autumn learning? September 2025 is bringing two absolutely beautiful book club opportunities that I’m genuinely excited to share with you. 📖
I know they’ll offer exactly what we need as we transition into the darker months. I’ll do another post on the 2nd book soon but the first is… James Baraz’s “Awakening Joy - 10 Steps to Happiness” 🌟 my Awakening Joy Book Club will run on Tuesdays, 7:30-9:30pm via Zoom from 9th September - 11th November (10 weeks)

After teaching James Baraz’s programme earlier this year to rave reviews, I wanted to explore his classic book more. Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day.” - Henri Nouwen (as quoted in the book)

Over 10 weeks, we’ll explore what joy really means (spoiler: it’s so much deeper than fleeting pleasure!), discover simple daily practices to awaken joy, and learn how mindfulness, gratitude, and intention fuel emotional resilience. Each session includes a 30-minute meditation - because joy and practice go hand in hand.

It’s so heartening to read this amazing feedback from my Tuesday morning classes. Thanks to the Libraries these classes are completely FREE! I change the subject every 4 weeks and each class is standalone so you can come when you can. We are currently in a mindful self-compassion set… Everyone is welcome to try it out. Libraries also have five of my previous classes recorded and available on their YouTube channel. It’s always nice to get a good review, but over the past two weeks, I’ve been blown away by the kind words in these two particular reviews.

The first one here is from my student Maureen Flynn, she wrote this on our Drumalis retreat a few weeks ago, she has been my student for a number of years and her transformation is inspiring. Making me, herself and many others very happy. Keep a check on my website, immeasurableminds.co.uk for my upcoming classes; they are as always, open to all who would like to learn the practice. Finding peace in a frantic world is possible.

The second comes on the back of a workshop I offered to DAC Beachcroft at their local offices in Belfast. I’m always happy to go to workplaces and share the practice, please get in touch if you would like a mindfulness workshop or bespoke course for the place you work.

This class will run every tuesday for the next 4 weeks, it is part of a series of FREE mindfulness classes i’ve been running for LibrariesNI since last September. We continue up until October 2025 with a new class every four weeks.
