Today at Express Yourself Social Cafe we celebrated our dear friend and disco queen Moya. Moya was a talented artist with a sparkly humour that brighten our gatherings. She will be missed by all her friends at Black Box Projects. We send our condolences to everyone who knows her.

The Bookings & Communications Officer is the first point of contact for those wanting to get in touch with The Black Box. They are responsible for the day-to-day administration of the organisation and communication with audiences, artists and stakeholders. This dynamic role requires a highly organised and self-motivated individual, who has the ability to multitask.

Job Title: Bookings & Communications Officer
Location: Black Box Office, Oh Yeah Music Centre, 15-21 Gordon Street, BT12LG
Black Box, 18-22 Hill Street, Belfast, BT12LA
Status: Less than Full Time, Permanent, 32 hours (4 days) per week
Salary: £20,966.40 (£26,208 pro rata) with increase April 2026
Pension: Opt-in (NEST)
Annual Leave: 25 flexible leave days plus statutory holidays (pro rata)

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Administration Systems Management & Information
Room Hire Bookings,
Event Coordination & Box Office Systems Management
Marketing and Promotion
Team Working

Essential Criteria:
-At least 1 year of administrative experience
-Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
-Ability to multitask and be self-organised
-Excellent communication skills

Desirable Criteria:
-Familiarity with Adobe editing software
-Excellent working knowledge of the Belfast and NI arts sector
-Familiarity with ticketing platforms such as Ticketsolve

On Wednesday Black Box Projects welcomed a wonderful group of people from the learning disabled community to our Disability and Work Strategy feedback session delivered in partnership with the mighty Action Mental Health team. We had support from Department For Communities, and they were in the room listing to your thoughts on the plan. We will feedback on your behalf to the department with the information gathered on the day.
Special thanks to Aislinn and Stephen from Action Mental Health, our team of note takers Jess, David, Abi and Emily and the crew from the venue for making it accessible and fun.
