A good friend sent me this quote a few weeks back and I've been waiting for the perfect opportunity to post it.

Today it feels very appropriate to do so!

Over the past few days the light has been POURING in!

I've literally received HUNDREDS of private messages about my recent blog post. I want to thank each and every one of you who took the time to read it, it's been read over 2,000 times!! (my last one was read 33 times 😂🤦‍♂️).

My friends and family would tell you how bad I am at replying to messages 🙈, so you can imagine my overwhelm at trying to get back to you all. If I didn't reply to you or repost I apologise, I tried my best to get to everyone, but I want you to know how much I appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences with me! I even updated the article once or twice to reflect some of the sentiments you shared 💛

It was pretty emotional to hear what people have been going through. I heard stories from men, women, young people, old people, nurses, doctors, new mammys, fathers, teachers, mental health workers..the list goes on. The most amazing people in society being treated as outcasts. The impact this is having on their lives and their mental health is not to be underestimated.

When I entered my profession, never did I think I would be working in a society where we treat each other in this way. I'm in disbelief!

But on a positive note, there is still hope and love in the world and that was more than apparent over the weekend!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Continue to share far and wide!

It's now time for a day off the phone for me 😆

Locked Down & Locked Out - A Society Divided

A little more opinionated than I usually like to be on this page but it feels necessary today!

Thank you to this week's contributor to the Guest Blog for this honest and relatable account of the grieving process.

Hearing other people's real life experiences often helps us to feel connected to one another and less alone.

I hope you readers out there find it helpful!

🙏

This storm feels relentless right now but it will eventually settle down and allow us to live life again!

Taking some time to remember though, that for some people, their storm pre-dates and will outlive the pandemic -

Family issues, relationship problems, loneliness, grief & loss, other health conditions, anxiety, depression, addiction, domestic violence, complex trauma, homelessness..

The list goes on.

For those who have been enduring these challenges, while also navigating lockdowns and all of the uncertainty in the world, your voice is heard every day in the counselling room.

Yes, some major themes showing up recently have been connected to COVID, but the other problems of the world have not simply stopped or been put on hold.

Therapy continues to be (and will always be) a place where we can work on ALL issues that are important to you 🤗
