To the Occupier.

If you receive a letter addressed to the Occupier don't throw it out, it could contain your £600 energy support voucher.

From Monday 16 January, households across Northern Ireland started to receive £600 worth of support with their energy bills under the energy support scheme.

To redeem the voucher customers will need to bring the following to their local post office:

their voucher
the letter from their supplier
proof of address (dated between 1 January 2022 and 1 January 2023)
photo ID

Customers who use a keypad will also need to take their keypad card or app to the Post Office to redeem the voucher.

People who do not have a bank or credit union account will be able to redeem their vouchers for cash at the Post Office, subject to the branch having the cash available.

Customers with a Direct Debit arrangement with their energy supplier will automatically receive the £600 payment directly to their bank account, without any action required, and will not be provided with vouchers.

Travelling to and from Belfast city centre on two wheels just got easier, with the opening of a new secure cycle parking facility at CastleCourt

The Bike Yard provides 24 free spaces for cyclists to use and is open 7am-7pm, Monday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday.

On Thursdays, it's open 7am-10pm and 12pm-7pm on Sundays.

Access is via the pedestrian entrance to CastleCourt car park from Gresham Street and Smithfield Market.

The facility is supervised all day, and within easy reach of the new Ulster University campus and other developments planned for this part of the city centre.

The initiative - designed to encourage more people to consider cycling and walking over driving - is a partnership between our council and CastleCourt, with funding from the Department for Infrastructure 🚴

Our parks will close at 7pm from this Sunday 2 October.

This is because our opening hours reduce gradually each autumn, as the nights get darker.

All our parks will continue to open at 7.30am.

Orangefield and Victoria Parks also remain open 24/7, as part of Connswater Community Greenway 🍂
