St John Ambulance N.I. Training We offer workplace & community first aid training courses. Our main venue is in Belfast.

We have other venues in Ballymena, Coleraine, Enniskillen, L鈥橠erry and Portadown. We also offer onsite group bookings, where the trainer would come to your premises.

Do you want to help people learn how to support their friends, family and colleagues with their mental health? We're looking for Mental Health First Aid trainers!

What you'll do:

* Teach fun and helpful classes about mental health first aid.
* Help people learn how to be there for others.
* Work with a great team and make a real difference!

You'll need:

* A Level 3 Mental Health First Aid qualification or experience in mental health.
* A Level 3 training qualification.
* The ability to use computers for training
* Be able to work some evenings and Saturdays.

What you'll get:

ST JOHN AMBULANCE (NI) REQUIRE SESSIONAL MENTAL HEALTH TRAINERS TO DELIVER MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID COURSES

About you:
路 You hold a Level 3 Mental Health First Aider Qualification or have a background in mental health (such as Mental Health Nurse) or have worked within Charities dealing with Mental Health.
路 You also hold a nationally recognised Level 3 training qualification.
路 Experience of delivering mental health and wellbeing courses to a high standard.
路 Have flexibility to travel throughout Northern Ireland to train at different venues as required.
路 Have flexibility to work weekdays, evenings and Saturdays as required.

First Aid Tip: An open airway
An unresponsive casualty's airway can become narrow or blocked. This can be the result of muscular control being lost, which allows the tongue to fall back and block the airway. When this happens, the casualty's breathing becomes difficult and noisy and may stop altogether. Lifting the casualty's chin and tilting their head back lifts the tongue away from the entrance of the air passage, which allows the casualty to breathe.
