As 2025 draws to a close, it’s a great time to reflect on the professional development of our physio team — and our continued contribution to the wider private practice community.
This year has been an exciting one for CPD at The Physio Group, expertly led and organised by our Training Manager Jo Montgomery 👏
We’ve been fortunate to host world-class speakers from the MSK world, learn from leading orthopaedic surgeons, and welcome outstanding soft tissue therapists from England — all with the shared goal of raising clinical standards and improving patient care.

Limited clinics will be running, with priority given to patients in acute pain, post-operative rehabilitation, and those requiring ongoing care.

The Physio Group is a Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Clinic first opened in 2005 in Newry at 37 Kilmorey Street.
The original name of the Clinic was “The Newry Clinic for Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries”. It quickly established itself as one of the leading musculoskeletal private practices in the area. Due to a growing client base, a clinic was opened in the heart of Belfast City Centre ( Alexander House, 17 Ormeau Avenue, Belfast, BT2 8FE). Initially to service existing Newry clients studying or working in Belfast City Centre. However, it has quickly established itself locally due to its easy accessibility to local office workers. A further clinic has since opened in Newcastle ( 1 Shimna Road, Newcastle, Co. Down, BT33 0AS). Clients from the surrounding area can easily access this purpose built clinic.
The Physio Group has 3 partners, Frank Quinn, Kieran Murray and Stephen Brannigan who are highly experienced Chartered Physiotherapists. They have previously worked in the English Premier League ( Birmingham City and Sunderland AFC). Rugby League ( Gateshead Thunder). Inter-County Level Gaelic Football with Down and Antrim GAA both men and women. As well as women’s MMA fighter Leah McCourt.

The Team of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Specialists has an emphasis on Continued Professional Development. This is to ensure that the client receives the best treatment available delivered in the most professional and efficient manner.
The Physio Group is not only a Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Clinic. It also specializes in the treatment of Sciatica, Frozen Shoulder, Tennis Elbow, Whiplash and Low back pain. The clinic provides treatment for any muscle, joint, ligament or nerve injury. Using various techniques such as MANIPULATION, MASSAGE, ACUPUNCTURE, or PILATES. The clinic also offers occupational health support such as workplace and ergonomic assessments and we now offer Pilates classes in our Belfast City Centre clinic.
The Clinic prides itself on providing a solution to a clients problems. We resolve injuries by accurate history taking, assessment and correct diagnosis followed by “hands-on” physio treatment and individualized rehabilitation programs to return a client to pre-injury levels and beyond.
For those clients who aren’t appropriate for physiotherapy or aren’t responding to treatment, we have an extensive list of the top specialists from all over Ireland and the UK who can consult in, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Musculoskeletal imaging, Injection therapy and Rheumatology. The Physio Group only uses clinicians we trust and our aim is that if we cant provide the solution we can direct you to the professional who can.
