Finaghy Dental Practice

Finaghy Dental Practice Finaghy dental practice is a family orientated practice wanting to provide each patient with quality dental care in a friendly, unhurried and caring way.

When you have been up all night with a toothache, we will see you the next day and get you sorted. When you have a crown that has come out , and you cant go to work looking like Shane Magowan from The Pogues , we will get it sorted for you promptly . When you are heading off on holiday, and something is troubling you at the last minute and you need it looked at urgently, we will do it. Patients want the dentistry that they receive, to last, and not need re-done for a lifetime. Do it once, and do it right, is what both patients and ourselves want. We love to see work that was carried out years ago, continue to last and serve our patients well. A patient needing very little future dentistry is success for all of us in the long term.

Dear Patients,
we are finally open again and able to offer all treatments . Certain procedures such as drilling and scaling of teeth are now classified as 'aerosol' procedures and require a higher grade of PPE for ourselves, which we have acquired. You can now get your routine check-ups, fillings and scale and polishes if you contact the surgery during normal business hours Mon-Fri 8-5pm and Fri 8-2pm. Restrictions still apply to a lot of Health Service treatments but we have options available to temporarily overcome these issues. Please contact the reception team who will be happy to assist you .
Many thanks ,
Joe and the team.

Dear patients,

this is a short post to update you on what is happening at the practice, and how to get help if you need it.

At the moment, because of the coronavirus, the treatment that we can offer you is very lmited. The Chief Dental Officer has advised us to not carry out any
aerosol generating procedures, in order to help slow down the spread of the virus. Thus drilling and scaling of teeth are at present prohibited.

So here is a list of the things we can offer you if you're having toothache presently.

1. Extractions
2. Temporary dressings
3. Advice and Antibiotics where necessary.
4. Referral to an Emergency dental centre for root treatment, but only after you have tried an antibiotic first.

So if you have a toothache or feel you may need any of the above, please telephone the practice on 90614937 between 9am and 10am each morning and we will help you.

Unfortunately, ultrasonic scalers are not allowed at present, so that means scaling and polishing of teeth must wait for another few weeks.

Its hard to put a date on when routine dentistry will restart, but we have been told that once the National Alert level falls to Level 2 (currently level 4) , things should get back to normal. We would estimate that being August/September 2020.

Best wishes,
Joe and Paul and the team .
