7 Powerful Home Remedies For Acne!
Cure your breakouts with these at-home solutions.
Do you suffer from frequent breakouts and adult acne? Try out some of these alternative home remedies to eliminate acne from your face.
OIL CLEANSING
Washing your face is the easiest way to prevent breakouts – a clean face means fewer bacteria to cause acne. However, sometimes it can be hard to remove things such as makeup and sunscreen from your face. Try using an oil based cleanser – to cleanse your skin and remove everything. Make sure to rub the oil onto your dry skin instead of wet skin before rinsing off or removing it with a wet washcloth.
BAKING SODA AND HONEY
A mixture of baking soda and honey will help treat your acne. Baking soda can help unclog your pores while honey is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory which can reduce redness and clean out your skin. Mix together these two ingredients, apply to your face, leave on for 15 minutes, and rinse off.
ASPIRIN
Salicylic acid is an ingredient that is in many acne face washes and topical ointments, but it’s also in aspirin. Aspirin is an anti-inflammatory drug that can help eliminate redness and cystic acne. Crush up a pill and mix with water until paste forms, apply as a spot treatment, and leave on for 10 minutes before washing off with warm water.
WATERMELON
watermelon and banana mask for an easy at-home summer acne treatment. Simply mix together a teaspoon of mashed banana and a teaspoon of watermelon juice. Apply the mask onto your face and leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Continue to use it every night and you should begin to see results.
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Malic acid is a key antibacterial ingredient in apple cider vinegar. Because of its anti-fungal and antibacterial makeup, it is super helpful for healing skin damaged by acne and preventing further breakouts. Use a little bit of apple cider vinegar as a toner for your face for best results, just make sure to dilute it with water or witch hazel before applying directly to your face with a cotton ball.
TOOTHPASTE
Toothpaste may be able to replace your acne cream as a regular treatment for pimples. Dab a bit of toothpaste onto the affected area and leave it on for 10-15 minutes before washing off. While there is no scientific evidence, it has been known to dry out zits. Just make sure you try it with white toothpaste, instead of a gel.
DON’T POP, LANCE
Popping a pimple is one of the worst things you can do to your face because that can damage the facial tissue surrounding the zit. This can not only cause scarring on your face but can also spread the bacteria from acne deeper into your skin. Instead, lance your pesky pimple with a sterilized needle. Gently press the needle on the top of the pimple and slide it through so it can drain.
