Mr McGarry is a Belfast-born, double board-certified Consultant Plastic Surgeon specialising in breast augmentation, breast uplift, breast reduction, body contouring and cancer reconstruction surgery. He is on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery (GMC 7453358) and combines advanced cosmetic expertise with a full-time NHS consultant practice in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.

Mr McGarry is known for his natural-looking results, meticulous technique and safety-first approach. Patients value his clear communication, honest advice and calm, down-to-earth manner.

Over the past decade, he has trained with leading experts across the UK, Europe and the USA. He is triple fellowship trained, having completed advanced fellowships at the renowned Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, Glasgow, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Manhattan, New York, and the prestigious BAAPS-supported aesthetic surgery fellowship with Mr Reza Nassab at CLNQ, Manchester, with focused training in advanced cosmetic breast surgery.

What is Mohs Surgery? 🔬

Mohs micrographic surgery is a highly specialised technique used to treat certain types of skin cancer, including basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.

Unlike standard excision, tissue is removed in precise layers and examined under a microscope immediately in our purpose built Mohs lab. This process is repeated until all cancer cells have been completely cleared allowing for:

- The highest cure rates
- Maximum preservation of healthy tissue
- Smaller wounds and optimal cosmetic outcomes

Because of its precision, Mohs surgery is particularly effective for skin cancers on the face, ears, scalp and other cosmetically sensitive areas.

We are delighted to welcome Mr Colin Weir to the Belfast Skin Clinic team

Mr Colin Weir is a Consultant Surgeon and Honorary Clinical Lecturer in Surgery. He has been at the forefront of introducing new technologies in vein treatment in Northern Ireland over many years of experience.

He treats all vein types mainly in the legs, including cosmetic issues, symptomatic veins and complications from veins. He has particular expertise in microsclerotherapy, foam sclerotherapy, radiofrequency ablation and endovenous laser ablation, and was the first to use these techniques in Northern Ireland.

Mr Weir qualified from Queen’s University, Belfast in 1984. He continued his training in Northern Ireland before taking up postgraduate research, resulting in amongst other things, travelling fellowships to Baltimore and Philadelphia. He completed his training in vascular surgery before appointment to the Southern Health and Social Care Trust in Northern Ireland.

Since then, his appointments have included: Honorary Lecturer in Surgery at Queen’s University, Belfast, Associate Medical Director, Education and Training for the Southern Trust. He has been a regional surgical advisor to The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is a fellow of this college and The Royal College of Surgeons of England.

He is a member of the British Association of Sclerotherapists and has been one of its board members and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
