We are excited to welcome Consultant Dermatologist Dr Amy Perkins to the Belfast Skin Clinic team.

Dr Amy Perkins sees patients of all ages, managing a wide range of skin conditions with a patient-centred and evidence-based approach.

She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education from the University of Dundee and is completing a Master’s degree in Skin Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine at the University of Manchester.

Dr Perkins is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and serves as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Glasgow. She also sits on the Board of Examiners for the Royal College of Physicians, contributing to the development, assessment and security of postgraduate medical examinations.

She frequently contributes to national media on topics including skin health, sun protection and the impact of health misinformation online. She has a particular interest in improving public understanding of dermatology and supporting patients to make informed decisions about their skin.

Dr Perkins also works with the Scottish Government as part of the Sunbed Working Group, which is exploring future regulatory approaches to sunbed use.

Her work sits at the intersection of dermatology, education and innovation. She has collaborated with leading technology organisations on the development and evaluation of artificial intelligence in healthcare and has a strong interest in its ethical and responsible use.

We are pleased to welcome Consultant Dermatologist Dr Manrup Hunjan to the Belfast Skin Clinic team.

Dr Hunjan is a Consultant Dermatologist on the GMC register and holds an NHS post as a Consultant Dermatologist, with over 13 years of experience.

She is known for her warm and understanding approach, recognising how vital skin health is to overall well-being. Dr Hunjan takes a holistic approach to dermatology appreciating the impact it can have on quality of life.

Dr Hunjan first studied medicine at the University of Birmingham and then completed Dermatology Specialist Training in the West Midlands. Her journey to become a Dermatologist took 12 years after completing 5 years at medical school.

She has been awarded a CCT in Dermatology, which means she is one of only about a thousand doctors in the UK to be on the GMC Specialist register for Dermatology.

After completing her medical degree, she completed a research fellowship in Paediatric Dermatology at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in the USA followed by a dermatology training at St John’s Institute of Dermatology and in the West Midlands. During her dermatology training, Dr Hunjan completed a fellowship in Epidermolysis Bullosa at the National centres at Solihull Hospital and Birmingham Children’s Hospital, whilst undertaking her Masters in Research.

She has received numerous prizes and published and presented her research nationally and internationally and continues to actively participate in research and frequently mentors and supervises medical students and junior doctors.
