Sitting posture and alignment of your pelvis is so important when you have a Neurological condition. Often people say " well I have always sat like this", our response is " to help with Neuroplasticity and with improving your postural stability you need to be intentional about how you sit, the research shows us that how we stand up from a chair is influenced by how we sit in a chair, therefore postural alignment and stability is so important"
Lots of ways to help improve sitting posture, get in touch if you would like an assessment and some advice, 07843608906 or Victoria@neurorehabni.com

Loss of sensation in your feet is very common with a number of Neurological conditions. Sensory information from the feet to the brain is really important for the brain to decide which muscles in your leg and foot to use when standing, transferring and walking. Your heel has loads of sensory receptors in it, so stamping it into the floor before standing up will help the brain to know where your foot is and therefore help the brain to choose the most appropriate muscles to work in your leg and foot. This should result in better balance and walking.

Give it a go and share in the comments below πŸ‘‡ how you get on. We see great immediate results with this in our clinic ✨

"The brain chooses the path of least resistance when it performs a movement" This is so important for us to remember when we are trying to strengthen a weaker leg. Slight adaptations to everyday movements such as standing up encourages our brain to become more connected with our weaker leg, it's a great idea as it means we are doing our physio rehab throughout the day without much added effort.
