Physiotherapists are highly trained health professionals who provide treatment for people suffering from a variety of physical issues anywhere from injury, injury prevention, ageing, illness, surgery rehabilitation and more. Ultimately, a physio’s job is to help you feel your best so you can get back to enjoying the things you love most.

People tend to believe that physiotherapists mainly work with back and sports related injuries. While that is true, a physiotherapist’s purpose is to improve a person’s quality of life by using an array of treatments to relieve pain.

Whether you’re an office worker struggling with posture or chronic pain, a mum recovering from pregnancy, or an active sportsperson, experiencing pain in any form can seriously disrupt your everyday life.

When pain prevents us from enjoying the activities we love, completing work, and spending time with family, it not only affects our physical health, but has flow-on effects to our mental wellbeing too.

From those niggling pains to more serious injuries, seeing a physiotherapist can provide relief and prevent ongoing complications.

The well-being of your employees is just as important, if not more so, as their skills and ability to do the job they were hired to do.

Organisations that take care of their employees are likely to have higher staff retention and a more committed team who are willing to grow with the company. This means a more positive, efficient and therefore productive business with the ability to outperform competitors.

As an employer, get in touch with us to arrange bulk physiotherapy with your employers, or even to arrange whole pilates classes!

No matter how active you were in your younger days, the aging process can slow you down. However, with physiotherapy, you can remain active and enjoy treatment for any pain that comes with age. Knee and hip pain are normal as we get older and physiotherapy will allow you to remain active without causing extra pain to your joints.

Another benefit of seeing a physiotherapist to stay active is strength building. The stronger you are, the less time it will take you to recover from a fracture should you fall.

Physiotherapy involves more than learning how to walk again after an accident. You don’t have to be in pain or looking for rehabilitation from an injury to see a physiotherapist. Physiotherapy can help people of all walks of life and ages, no matter what ailments they have.

If you’re entering your golden years and are looking for ways to be more active and get the most out of life, physiotherapy offers great benefits.

Physiotherapy can help you overcome specific issues you might be facing as you get older. For instance, physiotherapy can address back and neck pain, old sports injuries that have not properly healed, arthritis and osteoporosis.

It can help you with breathing problems like COPD and asthma, issues related to diabetes, ailments that affect the nervous system like MS or Parkinson’s, and foot conditions or can help you overcome incontinence, something that many older people experience but are embarrassed to seek help about.

Depending on the reason for treatment, the benefits of physical therapy include:

- Pain management with reduced need for pain relief
- Avoiding surgery
- Improved mobility and movement
- Recovery from injury or trauma
- Recovery from stroke or paralysis
- Fall prevention
- Improved balance
- Management of age-related medical problems

Our physios can advise individuals about the benefits specific to their personal medical history and their need for treatment. E.g A sports therapist can help an athlete to maximize their performance by strengthening specific parts of the body and using muscles in new ways.

Physiotherapy is a type of treatment based on the study of physiology, neuroscience and anatomy. Its aim is simple: restore proper function to your body, help you return to your usual activities and reduce the risk of further injury.

In contrast to other branches of medicine, which tend to rely on drugs and surgery to treat injuries and diseases, physiotherapy uses physical methods such as massage, movement and exercise. Physiotherapy can be used to treat a specific injury, or it can be applied to enhance your general wellbeing
