The family of the late Jeremy Kelly would like to express their deepest thanks and appreciation to all of their family, friends, and neighbours who sympathised with them during their recent bereavement. Thanks to all who sent cards, telephoned, and called to the family home, and to those who attended the funeral and helped in any way. Thank you for the donations made in lieu of flowers to ward 5D in the Royal Victoria Hospital. A special thanks to Peter McVea for speaking at the service, and to Jane for all her help and guidance. Thank you the all the staff at Portaferry surgery for their care towards Jeremy, and to all of the staff in ward 5D at the Royal Hospital for the care, kindness and compassion they showed to him, and to us as a family. Finally to Kirkistown Castle Golf Club for the catering and refreshments after the funeral, and to John Smith funeral directors for their dignified, compassionate, and professional service. ZAVATTARI (Portavogie/Newtownards) Died 9th May 2026, suddenly at hospital. Maca, devoted partner of Carla, the best father of Thom and Theo, cherished son of Angela and Dino, dearly loved brother of Maurizio and Manuela and a much loved uncle and brother-in-law.
Funeral Service will take place on Monday 18th May at 11am in John Smith Funeral Home, 89a High Street, Portaferry, followed by a service in Roselawn Crematorium at 1.20pm and then refreshments in the home 111 Main Road Portavogie.

Trainor (Portaferry). Died 2nd May 2026, suddenly. Michael (Jockey), beloved son of the late Vera and Jimmy, dear brother of Mary, Stephen, Kieran, Paul and the late Gerard and a dear uncle and great-uncle.
Michael’s remains will be reposing in John Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday 6th May from 6pm-8pm. Funeral Service in John Smith Funeral Home on Thursday 7th May at 2pm followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Graveyard, Ballyphilip.
Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Savage, Gerard (Portaferry) April 1, 2026.
The family of the late Gerard Savage would like to extend their sincere thanks to all those who visited with the family, sent cards, messages of sympathy, donations in lieu of flowers to St Vincent De Paul and supported them through their prayers following the recent loss of Gerard. A heartfelt thanks to Father Fergal McGrady, Fr McManus, Bernard and the Parish Bereavement Ministers Pauline and Marie. Thank you to the staff at Edgewater Nursing Home and the Ulster Hospital who cared for Gerard so well during his illness. Thank you to the Community Centre for the use of the Youth Club, to Angus Farm Shop for the catering and the Gilmore girls for their help with the teas. Finally, our thanks to J. KELLY (Portavogie) Died 26th April 2026, peacefully at hospital. Jeremy, devoted and loving husband of Carole ‘the princess’, beloved father of Claire and Ryan, Papa to his wenes Dylan, Jordan, Freya, Mylie, Ethan and Hayley, Papa J. to his new wee princess great-grandaughter Aria Amber, son to June and the late Hugh and brother to Arlene and Bernie and father-in-law to Raymond and Stacey, brother-in-law to Robert, Anwyn, Billy and his special sister-in-law Bina and brother-in-law David and a dearly loved uncle, great-uncle and friend to many.
Jeremy will be reposing in John Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday 29th April from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. Visitors welcome to the family home 17 Cloughey Road, Portavogie from Thursday 30th April to Saturday 2nd May 3pm-8pm. House private at all other times.
Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday 6th May at 12.30pm in John Smith Funeral Home, 89a High Street, Portaferry followed by a service in Roselawn Crematorium at 2.40pm.

George’s remains will be reposing in John Smith Funeral Home on Thursday 16th April from 6pm-8pm and Friday 17th April from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm.
Funeral will leave the funeral home on Saturday 18th April at 9.30am to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyphilip for Requiem Mass at 10am followed by burial in adjoining graveyard.
