It was a thrilling encounter at Spafield with the away side clearly wanting to spoil the party. However the new found resilience for the men in green saw them over the line with a late goal yet again, after a sustained period of home pressure.

Today’s result seals the Northern Amateur Football League Division 1A league title with two games still to play, adding the league crown to the promotion that the lads had already secured a few weeks ago. As a club, our first Intermediate silverware in our 43 year history.
The journey makes it all the sweeter. From the league and promotion near misses of recent seasons as we steadily climbed the leagues from Division 1C, this group has never stopped believing. Losing the Steel & Sons Final on penalties could easily have broken spirits, but instead the management team and players used that pain as fuel, responding in the only way they know how, by going on an unbelievable 14-game winning streak to put the league beyond doubt.
Massive credit to each and every one of them along with the volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who keep the club moving forward week after week. This belongs to all of you.
