2,4,6,8 what can we appreciate? π
π₯°This is just a simple reminder that when the π« seems like a far reach, you can fall back into the warm arms of appreciation
π₯° We know that gratitude improves mental and emotional well-being. And if there's 1 thing I stand for unapologetically, it's supporting our mental and emotional well-being.
π₯° I'm also a pragmatist, and there are times and sitting our lives where we just can not be grateful. In the wake of my dad's death, the trauma was so abhorrent that there was no way I was finding gratitude.
π₯° However, I did find that if I took a more gentle approach, I could appreciate tiny things. The cup of tea being warm, the purring of my cat, the softness of my bed.
π₯° I'd repeat in my head 2,4,6,8 what can I appreciate and I'd find something, however seemingly insignificant and it had the same boost (over time) as my regular gratitude practice.
π§‘ It's just a little reframe that can really support your frame of mind when times seem hard. Because we all face dark days and difficult situations. And using this means we are always in a place of thankfulness which is what positively impacts our neuroplasticity. (It's absolutely paramount that your other emotions like anger, sadness, frustration, etc. live alongside this in their fulness....never suppress them, they can coexist)
