In 2023 I travelled back to my hometown in South Africa.

While I was there, my sister Adele and I hosted a women’s morning in Louis Trichardt — a room filled with women of every age, every story, every walk of life.

And something beautiful happened in that room.
The moment women realised something very important.

That the exhaustion they feel is not “just part of getting older.”
That the anxiety, the sleepless nights, the sudden changes in their bodies are not a personal failure.
That they are not “past their prime.”

I watched faces soften.
Eyes light up.
Shoulders drop.

One woman in particular stayed with me.
She was the eldest in the room — quietly listening, asking questions, absorbing everything.
And slowly… hope returned to her eyes.

Because for far too long women have been told a lie: That once we reach a certain age… our value fades into the background.

What absolute bo****ks!

Let me say this clearly for anyone who needs to hear it today:
𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲.
𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗮 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿.
𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱.
𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲.

In many ways, this is the beginning of your most powerful chapter.

When knowledge replaces confusion.
When you reclaim your energy.
When you understand your body instead of fighting it.

Women were never meant to fade away.
We were meant to evolve.

And when women understand their bodies, their hormones, and their cellular health — something very powerful happens.

They rise again.

Ageless. What does it really mean?

To me, it means valuing health as one of the most precious investments we can make in life.

I live in deep gratitude for my health and well-being, and I want to protect it for as long as possible. Not because I want to chase youth, but because 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲— and I want to experience it fully for as long as I can.

The ability to move, explore, think clearly, feel energised and curious about the world is something we often take for granted until it begins to slip away.

But what if we could see ageing differently?

What if we understood 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲?
What if we shifted our lens and recognised that living well for longer is something we can actively invest in?

I value living long and in good health, and don’t want that to change.

I love life because we only get 𝗼𝗻𝗲.

Meeting people from different cultures.
Standing on mountains in Ecuador and Peru.
Drinking tea with Bedouins in the Egyptian desert.
Riding off-road motorbikes through foreign landscapes.
Diving into deep oceans.
Skiing in Austria.
Drinking beers with strangers who quickly become friends.
Camping on the roof of Africa.
Freezing my backside off in Iceland — admiring the Northern lights

All the beauty in between.

Every moment reminds me why health matters so much.

Because when your body and mind are strong, the world stays open just a bit longer.

Ageing does not have to be a thing that stops you from enjoying life. Yes, I know I am 54, and that is not old, but I want it to stay that way for as as long as I possibly can.

And that, to me, is what 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 is really about.

In Derbyshire we measure the start of spring very scientifically…
By the moment the daffodils start showing their bright yellow faces. 🌼

And after a long winter of coats, jumpers, grey skies and staying tucked up indoors, we’re very ready for this new season.

Because spring is a reminder of something important.
Growth is rarely linear.
Not in nature.
Not in us.

Have you ever planted something and watched it for months… watering it, moving it into the sun, checking it constantly — only for absolutely nothing to happen?
A year passes. Maybe two.
You start thinking you’ve failed. That you simply can’t grow plants.

And then one random Tuesday morning in spring… it suddenly blooms. Bigger and stronger than you ever expected. Barely fitting in its pot anymore.

That didn’t happen overnight.
It was growing the whole time.

Sometimes growth happens quietly. Beneath the surface.
Through the mud, the cold, and the seasons that feel like nothing is changing.

And sometimes, like wildflowers in old boots, it grows wherever it finds space — even in the places you never expected.

So if your flowers aren’t showing yet, keep going.
Keep tending to the soil, keep watering, keep trying.
Your random Tuesday morning in spring might be closer than you think.

Wishing all our family, friends, colleagues, partners and patients a beautiful start to spring!☀️

January and February have felt like they lasted approximately eleven years.
Cold, dark, wet, and quiet.

Everyone’s felt that slow, heavy start to the year… and honestly, we’re over it!

While appointments may ebb and flow, the work behind the scenes never does. We’ve been preparing for inspection — going through every system, every protocol, every safety measure — making sure Uniskin remains a space that is not only skilled, but unquestionably safe.

It’s definitely not glamorous work.

It’s paperwork, extra training, checklists, and storage audits.
Thrilling? No.🫠
Important? Absolutely.💪

You may have seen recent stories about procedures being carried out in back alleys, kitchens, bathrooms — completely unregulated environments.

And the real question is:
Why would you risk your own health for that?

Safety isn’t a luxury. It isn’t an “added extra.”
It is the 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞.

And this is what that looks like for us:

✔ MSc in Aesthetic Medicine
✔ In-person advanced training and accredited certification
✔ Pharmacy-sourced, reputable products only
✔ Sterile, organised clinical storage
✔ Medical-grade sterilisation and hygiene systems
✔ Locked, regulated medical fridge maintained at 2–8°C
✔ Certified sharps bins and clinical waste collection
✔ Emergency kits checked, logged and ready

When you invest in treatment, you’re not simply paying for product.

You’re paying for training.
For regulation.
For preparation.
For accountability.
For someone who understands what to do, even when things don’t go to plan.

That’s the standard we hold ourselves to.
And that’s the standard you should expect.

Holding the syringe is easy. Holding the responsibility is not.

Aesthetic medicine is not just about injecting product. It’s about understanding what sits beneath the skin — muscles, fat compartments, veins, arteries, ligaments and bone structure — and knowing exactly how each layer interacts.

It requires:

• Advanced anatomical training, including cadaver study
• Ongoing medical education
• Deep understanding of muscle dynamics and vascular pathways
• Knowing precise dosage, placement depth, needle size and technique
• Understanding complications and how to manage them
• Recognising signs of issues such as ptosis and responding appropriately
• Sourcing products from reputable suppliers
• Handling and disposing of medical materials safely and correctly

It also means staying current. Medicine evolves. Techniques refine. Safety protocols improve. A responsible practitioner evolves with it.

Aesthetic treatment is elective, but the responsibility behind it is medical.

When someone recommends a practitioner, it’s worth asking:
Are they recommending someone who is friendly?
Or someone who is clinically trained, experienced, and prepared to manage every outcome?

Skill matters.
Judgement matters.
Accountability matters.

We take that responsibility seriously, and we have your back.

Bruising after aesthetic treatment is common.
And it’s important to understand why.

Beneath the skin lies an intricate network of arteries, veins and capillaries. These vessels are delicate and densely distributed — particularly in areas commonly treated with injectables.

Bruising occurs when a small blood vessel is disrupted and blood leaks into the surrounding tissue. If a vein is punctured, it can release blood under pressure — much like a small hole in a hosepipe. In that moment, pressure must be applied to stop the bleeding. As that pressure is applied, the blood can disperse beneath the skin, spreading through the tissue — similar to ink moving through paper.

Sometimes this results in a small haematoma, where blood collects in one area under the skin.

Several factors can increase your likelihood of bruising:

• Alcohol
• Anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen
• Certain antidepressants
• Prescribed blood-thinning medication
• High blood pressure
• Heat exposure
• Hormonal fluctuations, including menstruation

This is why consent forms matter. Bruising is often an expected risk — even in experienced hands.

Over the days that follow, bruising typically changes colour as the body breaks down the blood beneath the skin: from red or purple, to green, and finally yellow before resolving.

Technique matters. Anatomy knowledge matters. Experience matters.

The vascular structure of the face is complex. Choosing a reputable, properly accredited practitioner reduces risk — but transparency about normal side effects is just as important.

Being ageless isn’t about being younger or denying your age.
It actually has nothing to do with your age.

It’s about refusing to be defined by it.

For too long, women have been placed in categories.
Too young to be taken seriously.
Too old to be relevant.
Too much. Not enough. Past it.

Ageless steps outside that box.

It’s how you carry yourself.
How you enter a room.
How you speak.
How you choose to show up in your life.

It’s the decision not to shrink as the years pass.
It’s understanding that growth doesn’t have an expiry date.
It’s knowing your value doesn’t decline with time — it deepens.

Ageless isn’t an age bracket.
It’s a mindset.

You can be 21 and ageless.
You can be 55 and ageless.
You can be 98 and ageless.

It’s not about chasing youth.
It’s about owning your presence.

Choose it.
Live it.

Ageing isn’t just skin deep.
It’s muscular.

Your face contains over 40 muscles of expression, most of which attach directly into the skin rather than bone. Every smile, frown, squint and moment of concentration creates repeated movement patterns.

Over time, those patterns matter.

With age and chronic stress:

• Certain muscles become overactive (often the glabella, forehead and crow’s feet area)
• Muscle balance shifts, with some groups becoming relatively dominant
• Resting muscle tone changes
• Collagen and elastin decline, making movement lines more visible

This is why dynamic lines eventually become static lines. It isn’t “just wrinkles.” It’s long-term muscle behaviour combined with reduced structural support.

Stress plays a significant role. Chronic tension, particularly through the brows and jaw, can alter how the face sits even at rest.

Understanding muscle activity is fundamental in aesthetic planning. It’s not about freezing expression. It’s about restoring balance, preserving natural movement and preventing overactivity from deepening lines unnecessarily.

Ageing is anatomical.
And good treatment respects anatomy.

If you’d like to understand how muscle patterns are influencing your facial ageing, we’re here to guide you.💜

We service our cars without hesitation.
We upgrade our phones when they slow down.

But when it comes to our own skin, we wait.

Skin is constantly working — renewing cells, producing collagen, repairing barrier damage, regulating oil, responding to stress and hormones.

Professional treatments - like peels, facials and good skincare - support what your skin is already trying to do. Especially where age, stress or environmental damage have slowed things down.

Encouraging healthy cell turnover.
Stimulating collagen where it’s slowed.
Helping the barrier recover when it’s compromised.

That isn’t vanity, it’s maintenance.
And that’s worth prioritising.

You don’t have to guess what your skin needs, that’s what we’re here for.😉

The Perfect Peel - Part 1

As someone who takes her skincare seriously and has been part of the Uniskin family for years, Sue knows exactly what to expect from this treatment. In this video, she shares what The Perfect Peel feels like, how she navigates the peeling phase, and why it’s nothing to stress about — it’s a short, normal part of a process she trusts.

The Perfect Peel works by stimulating controlled exfoliation using a blend of medical-grade acids, antioxidants and glutathione. This process encourages cell turnover and collagen stimulation, helping to improve skin texture, tone and overall skin quality over time. As the days pass, old, damaged skin sheds to make way for healthier, brighter skin underneath.

We’re not showing the results just yet, though.😉
Great skin takes time.
Sue will be back once her skin has fully completed the renewal process, and then we’ll share her after results.

If you’d like to learn more about The Perfect Peel or chat through whether it’s right for your skin, you’re welcome to get in touch.

13/01/2026

Here’s one thing we’re leaving in 2025:
The idea that men are expected to “age like fine wine” — effortlessly, silently, without ever questioning their reflection.

That if you’re a man, noticing change means vanity.
That doing something about it means weakness.
That caring how you look somehow isn’t manly.

But men look in the mirror too.
And sometimes the person looking back doesn’t quite line up with how you feel inside.

Not because you want to turn back time.
Not because you want to be someone else.

But because you want to recognise yourself again.

And this isn’t only about appearance.

There’s a functional side that rarely gets spoken about.
Changes like thinning lips can affect comfort, eating, everyday ease.
Living with restriction in your own body shouldn’t be the price of “just getting older.”

Wanting to look as good as you feel is universal.
Age and gender don’t get a say in that.

If this resonates, consider it your sign to start the conversation. We're all ears.

2025 was not a year of noise.
It was a year of building.

This video captures something deeply important — not just what we did, but why we did it.

While much of our energy went into preparing our South African event and laying the foundations for Ageless by Design, our clinic quietly thrived.

✨ Over 900 patients trusted us with their care
✨ Aesthetics remained a cornerstone — from muscle relaxants and dermal fillers to advanced skin treatments
✨ Skin health stayed front and centre, with pigmentation correction, glow restoration, and softening lines continuing to lead the way
✨ Our skin subscription packages grew steadily, reflecting a shift toward consistency over quick fixes
✨ We stayed at the forefront of innovation, welcoming the launch of longer-lasting, faster-acting muscle relaxants

Alongside this came creativity — and an expanding global footprint, particularly in South Africa.

What we’re seeing across South Africa and Europe is a powerful shift:
People are no longer waiting for illness.
They are choosing prevention, understanding, and ownership of their health.

Although Ageless by Design launched in South Africa, it was born here in the UK — shaped by patients who wanted more than symptom management. They wanted to understand their bodies and protect their healthspan. That ethos remains the heart of everything we do.

As part of this evolution, we’re actively progressing through CQC accreditation — not as a hurdle, but as a framework that supports our commitment to safety, integrity, and excellence.

2025 ended with momentum — but more importantly, it marked the beginning.

Uniskin and Ageless by Design are no longer ideas in development.
They are intentional, global, and gathering pace.

And this…
is just the start. 🌍✨

UniSkin Wellness Clinic

Tania is registered advanced nurse practitioner with 28 years experience in medicine, especially A&E and now part time in GP practice as well as running her own clinic mostly full time. She is continiously studying and seeking ways to improve wellness and wellbeing which includes aesthetics (muscle relaxation and fillers). Tania is currently doing a third masters degree and in her final year of Masters in Aesthetic Medicine where she is trained and assessed alongside plastic surgeons, dermatologists and experts in the field. Her aim is to be able to care for clients from top to toe in matters that concerns them. Tania travels the world to learn from experts in the field and brings all of that knowledge into her practice.

UniSkin offers a variety of treatments and is continuing to grow. It offers hair and skin rejuvenation, antiaging solutions, intravenous infusions for wellness, carboxytherapy, the usual fillers and muscle relaxation but at advanced level and vaginal rejuvenation. Wound healing and other modalities to improve sleep, hormonal levels, skin peels and dermastamping are also growing fast with new technologies being used all the time. The aim is to help you restore and maintain as much of your old self as possible. Tania believes strongly to the code of practice in Nursing and Medicine and is supportive that no treatments should be offered if they have not been tested or you are not competent to deliver them. She knows what to do in emergency situations which unfortunately can occur and is also in a very good network group where she can refer if anything happens which is outside her area of expertise. Finally, Tania cares.
