Rainbow Valley - a new LGBT Hub for Amber Valley - is launching with a Sober After Party for Pride in Belper on Saturday 2nd August. We are looking for local musicians, poets, comedians, magicians, and face painters who would be willing to volunteer their time and artistic talents. As it's a free event we can't financially recompense you, but we will provide all volunteers with free food and drink throughout the evening. If this sounds like something you'd like to help with please contact me via email at ollie.roscoe@kelseyfamilycic.co.uk or text/call me on 07871632662.

With less than a month to go, download festival have announce they will be banning trans gender people from the bathrooms that match their gender presentation creating massive safety and dignity issues.

Download have chosen to implement proven abuser Kishwer Falkner's interpretation of the recent supreme Court ruling and not the ruling itself that states: 'It is not the role of the court to adjudicate on the arguments in the public domain on the meaning of gender or s*x, nor is it to define the meaning of the word “woman” other than when it is used in the provisions of the EA 2010.'

Bands have already started to hit back against the organisers stating “If the only way we can p**s is by outing ourselves then you’ve created an unsafe environment"

Due to health issues, Peace of Mind is cancelled this week. We'll be back on as usual next week on Friday 6th June.

Are you struggling with addiction or an addictive behaviour of any kind? Are you looking for an evidence based scientific approach to recovery? UK SMART Recovery could be exactly what you are looking for.

SMART stands for 'Self Management And Recovery Training'. We hold mutual support meetings where, through open and confidential discussion, we help each other and ourselves with recovery from any type of addictive behaviour.

We view addictive behaviour as our own responsibility and the result of choices we have made. If we have chosen to maintain an addictive behaviour, it is possible that we can choose to stop it.

The SMART Recovery approach uses CBT and REBT psychological tools in the form of self-empowering skills to help you build and maintain motivation, cope with urges, manage thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and live a balanced life.

I am a fully trained SMART Recovery Group Facilitator and I run 2 groups every week in the Derby City and Derbyshire area. Full details can be found below.

- Tuesday evenings, 7:15pm - 8:15pm, at Centurion Walk Community Room, Chester Green, Derby, DE1 3RD. https://uk.meetings.smartrecovery.org/meetings/1606/

- Friday evenings, 7:30pm - 8:30pm, at The Recovery Hub, 1924 Arcade, Campbell Street, Belper, DE56 1AP. https://uk.meetings.smartrecovery.org/meetings/1586/
