We are all mothers to something wonderful in our lives : whether it's birthing new ideas and concepts or general acts of creation, love and care, so don't think you're excluded if you didn't birth a human.

THE PAUSE IS OUR CAUSE...

THE PAUSE - in terms of the time we take for ourselves to rest. Rest, not as reward, but as a necessary restorative practise to help sustain us on our many different levels of being :- emotionally, mentally, creatively, socially, sensorially, physically & spiritually.

THE PAUSE - in terms of Menopause; This remarkable life transition that women go through and which we are only really just starting to discover how each individual woman might best navigate, support themselves and even embrace this truly transformative time.

We are working closely with The and a growing group of women who are committed to not only providing sauna as a safe, nurturing space to support women during the changes they encounter, but also in collaboratively finding an evidence base for the wide ranging benefits of sauna for women during this life stage.

Well, we tend to have a very relaxed couple of rounds mingling and chewing the hot fat. Then, in the third round, which I like to think as representing autumn , the symbolic seasonality of menopause , we open up the floor to a speak easy around the subject of this menacing ? Liberating ? Inevitable life transition.
There are funny stories , helpful advice, sometimes deep wisdom shared, but an openness and safety to just BE in the company of other pause-curious she-folk.

Sessions dedicated to menopausing women...the warmth invites you to relax & take this time and space to listen to what your body might need most.
It might be a stretch, the chance to share, question , giggle, or just be still for a while.

Women who have sauna as part of their culture commonly use the hot & cold to alleviate but not eradicate their symptoms. Using the space and the community it fosters to help guide them as part of an holistic solution to self care during this natural life transition .
