We are lucky enough to have a "Tiny iPad" to share across the Community units.

Residents with varying abilities greatly benefit from this large touchscreen technology by being able to interact much more easily than with normal size iPads.

This activity is especially appreciated amongst residents that are bed bound.

🐣🌼 Our residents had a wonderful time taking part in our annual Easter egg and gift basket hunt!

At Easter, it’s so important to us that everyone can join in the fun — especially those with limited mobility — so we made sure the activity was inclusive for all 💛

Residents enjoyed searching through baskets filled with shredded paper to uncover hidden chocolate treats, while those who don’t have chocolate received a lovely surprise Easter gift instead 🎁🍫

A joyful day full of smiles, laughter, and togetherness!

The Beacon Church gave an Easter service on our Cephas Community Unit this week.

Residents were very pleased to join the congregation in prayer and hymn singing.

Afterwards residents, family, friends and the church congregation chatted whilst enjoying tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits ☕🍪

Godden Lodge are pleased to have formed such a close link with the church and were pleasantly surprised when the church minister Richard, presented some chocolate Easter eggs for us.

We had a visit from recently, giving us a presentation on animal heroes through the war.

Residents, family, friends and staff gathered to listen to the interesting tales of animals who played a huge part in the war. Everyone was captivated by the photos and pictures the presenter showed on the screen.

One resident commented, "We had no idea animals played a part in the war. You learn something new everyday."

This is our second visit from this company and we are looking forward to a third visit in April.

Our monthly pamper afternoons are very popular here at Godden Lodge! 🫧

Residents are treated to a relaxing afternoon with soft music playing, foot spas, face masks and hand massages.

We believe our pampering afternoons can help to reduce anxiety, whilst improving mood and boosting self esteem. The sensory experience, especially for residents living with dementia, can help them feel comfortable and relaxed.

These pamper afternoons also help to build relationships amongst the residents, often sparking fond memories of their past.

We believe, making bird feeders is an excellent sensory-rich gardening club activity for our residents and a great opportunity to connect with nature 🐦‍⬛🐦

We use simple items like toilet paper rolls, spread with peanut butter then rolled in bird seeds.

This allows our residents to engage in hands on crafting while creating something that attracts birds in our gardens for everyone see.

Many of our residents enjoy watching the birds from the lounges and bedrooms at Godden Lodge.
