Over the past few weeks your local Community First Responders have been kept busy responding to 999 call outs in the local area.

This evening we received a generous donation from one family who wanted to thank us for responding to their 999 call when their family member became unwell. Thankfully the patient is making a good recovery 💕

Many thanks to the Committee of Beragh 5 Mile Road Race for their generous donation of £500 towards the Beragh and Sixmilecross Community First Responders.

Your yearly support is greatly valued and will be put towards the replacement of defibrillator pads 💓.

This Valentine’s Day, show your heart some love! 💘💔 Know the signs of a heart attack and remember to STOP:

💡 S – Something’s not right – symptoms can start slowly
💡 T – Tightness or pain in the chest, arm, neck, or jaw
💡 O – Other symptoms like shortness of breath, nausea, or sweating
💡 P – Phone 999 immediately – the ambulance crew will do an ECG

🚨 A heart attack won’t wait—neither should you! 🚑 Tag a loved one to spread awareness.

🚨🚨 Safetalk Su***de Prevention Training 🚨🚨

The Clear Project are offering an awareness training session on the topic of working to prevent su***de, self-harm, drug and alcohol misuse.

The session will be held in Beragh Pavillion on Monday 17 February from 6.00 - 9.30pm

We urge as many of you as possible to attend this session as you never know when you or a loved one may face these challenges in life.

The training session will give you the knowledge on how to deal with someone in this situation and will signpost you in the right direction as to where to get assistance.

Cold temperatures can significantly impact the life and performance of defibrillator batteries. Freezing temperatures, can cause the electrode pad gel to freeze, rendering the pads unusable. Extreme cold can also damage the internal components of a defibrillator, leading to malfunctions or complete failure.
Please check the storage condition of you AEDs, whether in your car, unheated cabinet, dressing room or building. Check manufacturer's recommendations for more information.
