March is Brain Injury Awareness Month.

Recovery from a brain injury isn’t always measured in big milestones. Often, it’s the small moments that matter most - a steadier step, improved balance, a little more independence, or the confidence to try something again.

In neuro rehabilitation, progress can look different for everyone. What may seem small to others can represent huge determination and hard work.

This month is a reminder to recognise and celebrate those everyday victories, and the resilience of people navigating life after brain injury.

Every step forward counts.

We’re privileged to work with such wonderful clients, and seeing the progress they make is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

It’s always lovely to hear how clients feel about their experience with us, and we are pleased to share this feedback:

Did you know that we run non-contact boxing classes for people living with Parkinson's?

Boxing-based exercise can be a fantastic way to work on balance, coordination, strength and reaction time - all in a supportive and encouraging environment.

The classes are led by a specialist neuro physiotherapist and experienced boxing coach. Evidence supports the benefits of exercise for managing symptoms of Parkinson's. Exercises will be tailored to help participants stay active, build confidence and have fun.

If you’d like to find out more about our Boxing for Parkinson’s sessions, please get in touch! We offer the first session as a free trial.

Classes are held on Tuesdays, 1.00pm at Harry's Berkhamsted boxing club.

New blood test could spot Parkinson’s years before symptoms appear.

Ground-breaking research from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden has identified early blood markers that may allow Parkinson’s disease to be diagnosed long before the classic symptoms like tremor and stiffness begin. Early detection gives people and healthcare professionals more time to start interventions that might slow progression - a huge step forward for managing a condition currently diagnosed only after significant brain changes have already occurred.

As neuro physio specialists, we’re excited about tools that could help detect Parkinson’s earlier. There is overwhelming evidence to support the importance of exercise and increased activity levels for people living with Parkinson's. The earlier we can establish good routines the better. Our specialist neuro team can help with tailored exercise programmes and advice.

This original research was published in npj Parkinson’s Disease - showing promise for early detection and future treatments: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/01/260129080424.htm
