Here is a date for all your diaries!

On the 23rd of October, we will be playing host to a Charity Fundraiser in aid of the newly formed, Berwick and District Breast Cancer Support Group.

Unfortunately, we all know someone that has been affected by Cancer in some way including our very own Elaine from the NorthStar Family.

We are delighted to be performing for such a worthwhile cause and have been busy devising a special 'Pink' themed playlist for the occasion. We hope to see as many of you there as possible on the 23rd at 1:30PM. The event will be cash only so best get raiding your piggy banks! 💵💰

After our amazing performance at Eyemouth High last week, we decided to take a bit of a break from the drums 🥁.

Instead, we had a high stakes game of Granny Pants and a few rounds of Human Hoopla.

Everyone really enjoyed themselves and it was somehow as noisy as all the drumming! For the most part it was a good clean competition but there was some *potential* cheating here and there. Big thank you to Tweed Connections Friends & Family for letting us borrow their pants!

Will be back to the drums next week 🤞 as we will have to get ready for our next performance and, I know it is only October, the Christmas Concert 🎄🎅.

Since it is the last day of the month, we thought we would share some videos of our recent 'Sustainable September' drumming performance. 🥁

We all really enjoyed being asked to come and entertain everyone at Eyemouth High Schools recent event last week.

It was a nice challenge for us to try and play some everyday objects instead of our normal instruments. I suppose everything is a drum if you hit it hard enough!

Today is finally the big day!

Best of luck to everyone who is participating but particularly our very own Lindsey Thompson who is taking on the Great North Run today. We are all incredibly proud of the hard work she has put in over these last few weeks and months and know she is going to absolutely smash it.

Lindsey is running for Berwick's Cancer Cars - The B&DCSG and all of your support in whatever form has been a massive boost to her and the rest of the team throughout. We can't wait to see the medal!

And last but certainly not least, good luck to our very own Daniel Flannigan who has very selflessly decided to go and support and stand in the queues to have the post race refreshments ready.

When you can't go to the festival then the Festival shall come to you! 🎶

We had our latest social day today and were lucky enough to be joined by some special guests.

Our very own Jock brought along the rest of his band Sunbelly to play some tunes for us. You don't need to have that awkward moment while you wait for the first people to go up on the dance-floor thats for sure. We were all immediately on our feet.

And it was a good thing we were dancing so much as we wouldn't be hungry enough for our treat takeaway lunch 🐟🍟.

If that wasn't enough, we were then joined by Heyzeus for an afternoon of more tunes and dancing.

A massive thanks to everyone who make days like this possible: whether that be the fantastic entertainment we have had today or those that donate to make days like this possible.

We will be back to drumming next week as we gear up for our next performance.

For the past few weeks we have been lucky enough to have Chloe come in to help with our latest Expressive Dance project.

All the clients are loving these workshops where we work on movement and devising our own routines.

This is eventually going to culminate in a performance devised by our service users based on our interests and the things that connect us. We have literally gone back to the drawing board for this and here are some of the very early ideas.

We can't wait to share the whole process with you.

We would like you all give a big Northstar welcome to our three new clients: Pupsy, Molly, and Dennis!

This week we have all been trying our hand at making our own puppets. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and working as a group to make and move their own creation.

Last week we were all making a racket (more than usual some how!) making different sound effects.

We can't flipping wait for the Salmon Queen on Thursday!

Today we had Chloe and Lucy come in and help us get in the mood with a Salmon Queen crown making workshop.

Everyone enjoyed it and we cant wait to show them off. We aren't fishing for compliments but safe to say they all look great.

Next Thursday (17th of July) The Shindiggers will be performing at this years Salmon Queen Crowning! 🐟👸

We are delighted to be asked to be part of such a long running Berwick tradition.

We will be performing at 5pm and there will be loads of other reasons to come along with other live bands, face painting (which we will have to try and keep the staff away from), the Salmon Queen Crowning and Parade, food stalls and a bar (which we will DEFINITELY need to try and keep the staff away from!)

So we hope to see as many of you there as possible for what promises to be a great community event!

Well that has been a very busy week!

Firstly we all loved celebrating Gillian's 40th birthday on Thursday. Any excuse to have cake and a disco is fine by us after all! 🎂🕺

And then our Tuesday and Friday groups took a bus to the Kingdom of Far Far Away to watch Shrek the Musical. Everyone loved it. Thank you to Glen Valley Tours and the staff at the Theatre Royal for helping make the trip such a success.

We have just got the photoshoot pictures back and we just had to share some of them! 📸

They are all amazing and a great way to celebrate all the clients hard work in designing and making their outfits. It is hard to pick a favourite but those three with the snazzy hats at the end is pretty good but perhaps I am biased.

Our very own Lindsey Thompson is running the Great North Run this year in aid of the amazing Berwick Cancer Cars.
