The gold light of the Sun as we now approach solstice. As we move through December, it is a time when many long for the return of lighter days. To feel the warmth of the Sun upon us, energising the body, and brightening the mind. Even now though, regular time outdoors can have a positive effect on our health.
Sunshine helps to produce vitamin D and raise serotonin levels, helping us to feel calmer, happier, and brighter within.
Natural light can help regulate our circadian rhythms, potentially providing a better night’s sleep.
Our skin benefits, as does our immune system, and our blood pressure.
Walking outdoors also helps to keep the energy flow within our bodies, rather than us getting stagnant and sedentary as is often the case in the winter months.
If anything though, just looking out on a view like this, the light of the Sun casting a band upon a silver Sea, as birds fly high following their path to wherever it is they are going. This in itself does us a world of good, and helps us remember our beautiful soulful connection to this amazing planet we live upon.
