You are basically a houseplant. You need sufficient water, nutrients and sunlight.

Water is essential for a healthy body and mind. Every organ and cell requires hydration to function well.

Water helps you to:-

Let Go and Soar

Scattered Thoughts Are Scattered Energy

If your mind is whirling here are some simple tips to direct your attention to a single focus at a time.

Visual Focus

This beautiful creamy white crocus is perfect to direct your visual attention. Notice the shape of the petals, the bright orange of the stamens in the centre and the contrasting green foliage.

Physical Focus - Ribcage Breathing

A calming focus for mind and body

Connects you back to your body and reassures your anxious brain that you are taking action.

Place your hands on your lower ribs with your fingertips touching. Notice the warmth as you hold them there for a few seconds before you slowly and gently inhale through your nose.

As you inhale become aware of your ribs expanding sideways and the fingertips may part just a little.

Hold the breath for a slow count of 3 or more if it's ok for you. Slowly exhale through the lips, the lungs will deflate and the fingertips come back together. Pause before you repeat the next in-breath.

One Task At A Time

To calm anxious thoughts focus on completing a simple task that is on your 'definitely can do this one' list. Congratulate yourself before moving on to the next do-able task.

Repeat the ribcage breathing as often as you need throughout the day. It helps clear the lungs too.

These are just some of the strategies I have shared with many group's and individuals over the last 23 years.

Eight Tips To Help You Maintain Your Energy

🌷 Prioritise tasks - to avoid energy crashes.

🌷 Be clear about how essential it is for this task to be completed now.

🌷 Will anyone suffer if you don't it right now?

🌷 Stop being at the beck and call of others. You will be surprised at how often people can and will sort things out for themselves

🌷 Become aware of how your energy levels are affected when in the company of some people. If you feel drained - work on limiting the time you spend in their company.

🌷 Clear the mind-clutter at the end of each day. Close your eyes and take 5 minutes to slowly breathe in and out and focus on releasing anything from the day that happened during the day and can't be changed.

🌷 Stay well-hydrated.- hydration levels affect our physical and emotional health and energy levels.

🌷 Eat a well-balanced diet - protein, vegetables and fruit are key. Be aware of avoiding too much refined sugar throughout the day. It causes blood sugar highs and sharp dips.

What Are You Holding On To?

🌟Focus on what you need to eliminate - take 5 minutes to sit and notice what 'emotion' has been adversely affecting your emotional balance?

🌟What have you been holding on to?

* Resentment
* Anger
* Blame
* Guilt
* Regret
* Worry

🌟Choose To Let It Go Now

Improve your health and life by choosing to let go of your attachment to the situation that evoked the emotion/s and grant yourself the freedom from it.

You can write it down with the awareness that you are now choosing to release yourself from the emotional attachment.

🌟Burn it or Bin It

You choose the best option for you

Visualisation 🪣

Visualise it being removed from your mind and body as you mentally drop it into the bin knowing that it will be disposed of today.

Burn It🔥

Take your paper outside and burn it - knowing that as it burns you are no longer attached to the energy-field of the situation.

However you choose to do it know that you will feel clearer and lighter.

Small Things Bring Joy🌞

Noticing the small things can brighten the day and boost your wellbeing.

Next time you go for a walk or step into your garden - actively notice what's around you.

I'm always uplifted by the flowers that appear throughout the year with each season.

These bright beautiful cyclamen were spotted on a visit to Sledmere Gardens at the weekend.

Nature never fails to bring delights each day but we have to give our attention to what's there.🌷

Clear Out The Clutter

A great reminder that if we want to make changes in our lives we have to let go of something that we no-longer need or serves our purpose.

Take some time to tune-in and see what you need to change.

Do you need to clear out the physical clutter or is it time to do a mind de-clutter.

Don't be afraid to make changes to help you move forward. If you keep doing the same things then nothing can change.

Are You Holding Yourself Back?

Getting out of our own way by holding onto old beliefs, thoughts, behaviours and versions of ourselves is how we hold ourselves back.

It may feel scary to think about making changes in how we act and interact with the world but if we want our lives to be different and not an endless repetition of 'same old, same old' we have to do something different and be the agent of change.

Make One Simple Change

Start with something you can change. Perhaps you could start with a 5 minute quiet breathing and gratitude practice in the morning before you start the day. This helps to balance the mind and body so you start off feeling in alignment with yourself before engaging with the external world.

Take a moment to think about any daily habits you have slipped into that truthfully hold you back and would benefit from some thoughts around why you repeat them.
