This January it will be 7 years ago I started my personal page to record the struggles of dealing with depression and anxiety. I have always believed in personal development, growth and improvement, because after all - if you give up, then really life just isn't worth living.
We are meant to be okay, we are meant to be able to pull ourselves in and out of problems. I believe we can all learn emotional resilience and what ever we are facing we can look to improve, fix, better or just calm the body to be able to cope or heal.
There are many mental and physical illnesses in the world today that simply are growing from a lack of self care, self awareness, emotional intelligence and attention to good advice.
After all who do you really trust, when the medics are stretched and let us down, the doctors don't have enough time to care at a deeper more emotional level and we don't believe in our own bodies ability to heal.
We look to friends, family or other professionals who have already found a way to fix the problem we are experiencing. We may get given advice that works and some that doesn't. The back ache, the head ache, the low energy or self esteem, the chronic illness.
We might join a religion because we believe in something out there will save us and all of this may or may not help.
Either way I believe every human should have some understanding of how the brain and the human psyche, works. How the nervous system records information and needs help to calm us down when faced with real or perceived fear.
I have dedicated the last 7 years, chasing wellness at all levels. Things that calmed down my nervous system, processes and new thinking that allowed my mind to feel less stressed, and more importantly helping and sharing what I found to be true about how to recover from any anxiety or depression.
Excited to see where I will be in another 7 years - hopefully will have helped even more people get their own lives back on track.
