Join me over in my group Holistic Well-being Hub where we can explore the deeper issues around living a longer, happier, healthier lifestyle. Why holistic therapies? Well because it has been holistic treatments that have helped me heal when my health and well-being hasn't been what it should be. Whilst working as an EMT (Emergency medical technician) I injured my back and it was acupuncture, McTimoney and reflexology that helped me heal. Whilst pharmaceutical medicine kept the pain at pay it was to a point that it didn't allow me a quality of life. Sadly, I had to retire from the job I loved but I found a way to be able to manage my injury without filling my body with pills. Fast forward a few years and I once again found myself in a place where my health was affecting my quality of life. Again pharmaceuticals weren't bringing me healing, they just managed the symptoms and they didn't even do that very well. During this time I was introduced to essential oils and I am so grateful. Using the oils not only brought me freedom in my own health and well-being issues but I saw it dramatically impacting family around me. This started me on a journey deeper into holistic health, firstly as a Wellness Advocate with doTERRA before then fulfilling a dream to train as a reflexologist. Fascinated by the body from my time as an EMT, both the complexity of it and yet the simplicity to and feet, who would have thought they could hold a key to supporting your body in such an incredible way! Last year saw me add AromaTouch which combines essential oils, acupressure and light massage for a deeply relaxing treatment. Then earlier this year I began some further training as a massage therapist and can now offer you Swedish massage (currently as a student) everything from a full body treatment to a facial massage and all at a discounted rate. The body has an inbuilt ability to heal itself and all three treatments will help give your body the reboot it needs to be able to find its way back into balance. Give your body the support it deserves and book yourself a treatment either by calling/messaging me on 07815 126617 or visit the website www.lavendertreetherapies.com

As humans we are programmed for touch and it can have a profound impact on our wellbeing.

New born babies that experience skin to skin contact at birth have been shown to have
🌱 improved brain function
🌱 better body temperature maintenance
🌱 improved nutrient absorption.

As adults we can experience significant benefits to our well-being as well. Hugging for instance has been shown to
🌱 lower cortisol, the stress hormone
🌱 increase serotonin, our natural antidepressant
🌱 increase oxytocin, our love hormone
🌱 increase our ‘killer cells’ boosting our immune system.

AromaTouch is a touch therapy that combines the power of 8 essential oils alongside acupressure and light massage. This is applied to the back and feet allowing for deep relaxation but also encourages
🌱better sleep
🌱lower stress levels
🌱reduced pain
🌱improved circulation

In a world that never truly sleeps it is important to create moments for your mind and body to be still. Support your well-being naturally.

I love learning and I am always looking for ways to support my wellbeing more naturally as well as that of you, my clients, so I am excited to announce that I have passed my ear seeding course.

So what is Ear Seeding?
It is the practice of placing small ear seeds on specific pressure points located on the outer ear. It’s also known as auriculotherapy or ear acupressure and has a long history of use in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

It aligns so well with reflexology and when teamed up with a treatment will allow additional balancing of the body for several days afterwards.

If you’re experiencing pain, insomnia, stress, anxiety, or other conditions affecting your physical or mental health, this may be a great alternative option before you consider turning to conventional medication.

Some of the concerns ear seeding may help support:
* Pain relief: Ear seeds may help reduce chronic pain conditions like back pain, arthritis, and fibromyalgia. The seeds are thought to work by stimulating the release of endorphins.
* Addiction recovery: some find it a help with withdrawal symptoms from alcohol, drugs, smoking, or other addictive substances. The pressure from the seeds is believed to restore balance in the body and mind.
* Stress and anxiety reduction: Ear seeding may help to relieve stress, tension, and anxiety. Stimulating certain ear points is thought to have a calming, balancing effect.
* Insomnia: Applying ear seeds before bedtime is said to help improve sleep quality and reduce insomnia. The gentle pressure may have a relaxing, soothing effect.
* Other conditions: Ear seeds can also be used for concerns like weight loss, nausea, depression, and PTSD.

I will be adding ear seeding to my treatment list from the beginning of November. You will be able to enjoy it as an addition to your regular reflexology treatment, facial reflexology or as a stand alone. Watch this space for more details.

What Happens in a Reflexology Session? 🤔

Think of your feet, face, hands, and ears like a secret map of your whole body.

Each cross on the map connects to a different part inside you — your stomach, head, back, or heart.

👣 In a reflexology session, we gently press on those points. This helps your body relax, eases headaches, reduces stress and makes your feet feel amazing.

What to expect:

👉 You’ll get to lie back and relax in a comfy chair.

👉 Then you’ll get what feels to you like a foot massage but I will be working those crosses on the map.

👉 Don’t worry it doesn’t tickle

👉 Some points might feel slightly tender, you might even experience heat or tingling in different parts of your body.

👉 And if you relax enough you might even sleep and I won’t change any extra if you snore 😜

Most people leave feeling lighter, calmer, and happier, think computer reboot — head to toe, inside and out! And many experience significant changes within their overall wellbeing.

So why not make it a regular part of managing your stress and keeping yourself healthy.

In the words of Jeremy Clarkson today ‘I did a thing’ I sat a 3 hour exam as the next step in becoming an Ayurvedic clinician at the age of 60. You really are never too old to learn.

Never did I expect 6 years ago when I began my training as a reflexologist that it would lead to this.

Today was the culmination of an intense year learning about the ancient Himalayan health system of Ayurveda. Long, strange words like avlambaka and bhrajaka, profiles of herbs such as triphala and rhodiola, plus doshas and dhatus needing to be ingrained in this old brain of mine.

Well I did it, I think 🤣 results won’t be in for 6 weeks but either way I am proud of what I have achieved. And now the real learning begins as I embark on real life case studies, helping people to understand their wellbeing from an holistic perspective, helping them to be equipped to better help themselves, looking deeper than a symptom to get to the root of the problem and then to begin to heal.

Impatient to know if I passed and excited to start the real work. If you would like to be considered as a case study please drop me a message with a brief outline of what you are struggling with and why you would like to come on this journey with me.

If anyone is interested I also have a group where I will be sharing more tips and recipes https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1GQ6Gx4ZJU/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Here’s to still learning and challenging myself at 60 🥳

Who knew that apple cider vinegar was good for so many different things 🤔

Look after those feet and they will look after you 👣

An apple cider vinegar soak is incredible for foot health helping to heal toenail fungus, soothe sore foot muscles, reduce foot odor, heal cracked heels and remove warts. Mix 1 part ACV with 4 parts water and you have yourself an incredible foot soak!

Apple cider vinegar may help with foot fungus due to its acetic acid content, which creates an acidic environment that slows fungal growth and may kill existing fungi. The acidity is thought to break down the protective coating on fungal cells, making them more vulnerable. Keep in mind that athlete’s foot is a fungus!

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) soaks soothe sore feet by potentially reducing minor inflammation, improving blood circulation, and softening skin. The acetic acid in ACV has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, while warm water helps relax muscles, providing relief for mild foot pain from issues like long hours of standing.

Apple cider vinegar helps reduce foot odor because its antibacterial properties kill odor-causing bacteria on the skin and in shoes, while also creating an acidic environment that is less hospitable to the bacteria and fungi that thrive in the warm, moist conditions where foot odor forms.

Apple cider vinegar helps heal cracked heels because its acetic acid softens and exfoliates dead skin, making it easier to remove, while also having antimicrobial properties that can fight off fungi or bacteria contributing to the dryness.

Today sees the start of World Reflexology Week. But what is all the fuss about? Most people I know really don’t like their feet, I would love to change your mind about just how important your feet are and how pleasurable a treatment can be.

It really is so much more than a foot massage.

Reflexology is a ‘holistic’ treatment which simply means ‘whole’ and every system of the body is reflected in the feet and stimulated via the reflexes. Many clients will feel tingling sensations or heat within their body. Many come with a headache and leave without it. Some find their feet smaller when they leave as the fluid retention subsides.

Each system is worked during a treatment encouraging the body to rebalance and heal itself.
👣 Your sympathetic nervous system helping to reduce stress.
👣 Your heart and lungs supporting better circulation.
👣 The head, brain and cranial nerves making it very beneficial for migraine sufferers, your immune system, your digestive system.
👣 Your muscular and skeletal systems reducing back problems or nerve pain.
👣 Your reproductive system helping to balance your hormones or fertility issues.
👣Plus much, much more.

Why not book yourself a treatment and discover for yourself what I’m talking about. New clients can enjoy £10 off their first treatment when booking this week, treatment must be taken by 31st October 2025.

Do you struggle with your mental health as the days get shorter?

One of the causes is low vitamin D, through low levels of sunshine, which is used in the production of serotonin, our mood hormone.

Symptoms can include a persistent low mood, irritability, feeling overly lethargic and sleepy, a loss of interest or pleasure in everyday activities to name a few.

Did you know that reflexology supports better mental health? How?
- Touch has a feel good factor and as a therapy is a powerful tool in wellbeing
- It lowers cortisol levels, your stress hormone
- It improves digestion, 90% of your serotonin is made in the gut
- It supports better sleep
- It helps improve energy levels
- It supports a stronger immune system
- It improves mental focus and concentration

Other things you can do to support your mental health this winter include
- Supplement, make sure you aren’t deficient in nutrients, especially your vitamin D and magnesium. Top up through good quality supplements or with lots of leafy greens, nuts & seeds, fermented foods.
- Catch the early light soon after sunrise as this stimulates the right hormones, seratonin and melatonin.
- Fresh air, a walk in nature is great for boosting your mood especially if its with friends or family.
- Good sleep, sleep is a time of healing for the body and vital for good health both mentally and physically.
- Self-care through yoga, meditation, reflexology, massage, journaling. Take time to focus on you.
- Essential oils, choose oils that are emotionally uplifting such as Wild Orange, Bergamot, Geranium, Magnolia. Use as a perfume, in a diffuser or add to an epsom salt bath.

Essential Oils - Natures Medicine Cabinet!

Welcome to my business, Lavender Tree Therapies. Lavender Tree Therapies started with essential oils quite simply because they have brought me freedom and control over my own health and well-being and I want to be able to share that with others. I am now also practising reflexology, I am currently half way through my Level 3 training so currently treating as a student. I previously worked for Westcountry Ambulance Service as an EMT but following a back injury I left the job I loved. I love working with people and the body fascinates me so I wanted to be able to be able to combine the two.

Reflexology was one of the treatments that I discovered during my recovery and helped me cope with the subsequent decision I had to make in leaving the ambulance service. It encouraged my body to heal itself and helped significantly with the stress of leaving and the recovery from the toll working nights had taken on my body. It brought me a beautiful sense of calm and I had so much more energy. I am loving being able to now help other people on a journey to better health, helping to ease their stress and introducing more self care in to their busy lives.

What have essential oils done for me? I feel brighter and more energetic, I am no longer plagued with sinus, ear or chest infections requiring a double courses of antibiotics! My mental health is stronger, I am not constantly stressed, I am finally winning the battle with my weight and I am seeing huge changes within my family for using them to. I am learning a new way of life, getting back to the natural as much as possible not just with mental and physical health but also around the home replacing so many of my every day products.

What is an Essential Oil? It is a naturally occurring volatile aromatic compound found in the seeds, bark, roots, flowers and other parts of a plant. It is the plants protection against environmental threats as well as playing a role in plant pollination. Correctly sourced these intrinsic benefits along with the beautiful fragrances bring us a product that we can use for a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. They have long been used in food preparations, beauty treatments and health care practice.
