🌿 Thinking about counselling for your child or teenager?

It's natural to have questions before taking the first step. On my FAQ page, you'll find answers to some of the questions I am asked most often, including what happens in the first session, how confidentiality works, and how parents and carers can be involved in the counselling process.

🌿 Counselling doesn’t have to be something you only reach for in crisis.

Sometimes it’s about finding a space where you can simply be yourself, without pressure, judgement, or expectations. A space to slow down, untangle your thoughts, understand yourself more deeply, and feel genuinely heard.

What I offer at Hope & Bloom Counselling & Psychotherapy is not a “one size fits all” approach. I work relationally, meaning the connection, safety, and trust we build together are at the heart of the work. I believe people grow when they feel accepted as they are.

I understand that reaching out can feel difficult, especially at a time when many people are carrying so much privately while trying to keep going.

Therapy can become a space that belongs entirely to you, somewhere to reflect, gain insight, and feel supported at your own pace. 🌱

Sessions are available in person in Bewdley, with support offered across Kidderminster, Stourport, Worcestershire, and the wider West Midlands, as well as online sessions available throughout the UK.

As a person-centred and integrative therapist, this quote from Carl Rogers continues to resonate deeply with me:

“The degree to which I can create relationships, which facilitate the growth of others as separate persons, is a measure of the growth I have achieved in myself.”

Within person-centred therapy, personal development work isn’t optional…it’s a mandatory and ongoing part of the role. The therapeutic relationship sits at the centre of the work, which means continually reflecting on ourselves, our experiences, our responses, and our own growth.

Some modalities place less emphasis on therapists engaging in their own personal therapy or self-development, but within the person-centred approach, this continuous inner work is considered essential.

Not because we are aiming to become perfectly healed or to “arrive” at some final version of ourselves…that simply isn’t reality. We are human too. Growth is ongoing, messy at times, and lifelong.

One of the greatest benefits of engaging in our own self-development is the ability to offer a more authentic, attuned, and non-judgemental relationship. The more awareness we have of ourselves, the more safely and compassionately we can sit alongside others in their experiences.

Growth doesn’t stop…for clients or therapists 🤍

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, and you don’t have to face it alone.

I offer a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly, explore what you're going through, and begin to move forward at your own pace.

If you or someone you know is struggling with anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling stuck, counselling can help you gain clarity, understanding, and support.

Based in Bewdley, Worcestershire.
