We are expecting high demand across our GP practices this winter as has been the case over the last few years, so our clinical team will be focusing on core General Practice appointments.

Here’s what you need to know about flu and Covid vaccinations this year:
Our Health Care Assistants, Nurses, GPs, Paramedics and other clinicians will be prioritising essential General Practice care for our patients.

Flu and Covid vaccinations will be delivered locally by a range of providers, rather than at our practices.

✈️ Travelling Abroad? ✈️ Protect Yourself Against Rabies

✅️ Rabies is a rare but extremely serious infection that affects the brain and nerves
✅️ It’s almost always fatal once symptoms appear, but the rabies vaccine can help protect you if you’re travelling to higher-risk areas or are exposed through your work
✅️ Rabies is usually caught from the bite or scratch of an infected animal (most often a dog)
✅️ It’s found worldwide, especially in Asia, Africa, and Central/South America.
✅️ In the UK, rabies is only found in a small number of wild bats.
✅️ Who Should Consider the Rabies Vaccine?
Travellers to countries where rabies is common
✅️ People at higher risk through their work (e.g., vets, animal handlers, lab staff)

✅️ The rabies vaccine is given as 3 injections over 28 days
